Has anyone had this issue? The car is a 2023 Trophy on R59 software.

I set the charging limit to 80%, and recheck it after returning to the home screen. All this is done in the car, not via the app, because I don't have mobile signal where I live.

The next morning, the limit is bumped up to 100% (and is charged to 100%).

It has happened in the last few weeks - not after a software update or any other trigger event. So this seems to occur out of the blue, but it does this almost every time now.

What is thw app set to ? (I appreciate you do not use it)
Guesing if app is set to 100% and a sporadic GSM signal connects app to car during the night it could be set at app value?

The app syncs with the car, so if I start the app - it will tell me what the car is set to. We hardly ever use the app so it is not running in the background.

Invoke a system reboot & recheck after that.

I will do that later today. Thanks.

I reset the system (hold the home button for 10+ seconds), and it came back with the charge limit back up to 100% again. I set it back to 80% and will check again tomorrow.

Update.

Rather than wait for tomorrow, I drove the car to a place where I have a phone signal. I set the car manually to 80% charge limit.

I then used the app and did the same (making a change to 70% limit, then back to 80% limit).

So, both manually and via the app - the car has been set to 80%.

I then took the dog for a walk for 45 minutes. I got back to the car... and it had changed itself to 100% again.

Frustrating.

I don't think it's the infotainment software version that is causing the problem. I had the same problem with mine after its first service when they had updated some of the software but not the infotainment version. It was still on R23 (I think).

It was re-booked in and the dealer updated a number of modules including the infotainment system to R59 and it now accepts the 80% charge limit. It was if they had installed software for the SR battery instead of the LR when they first did the updates.

I don't think it's an update issue. The car had a full update for its first service about 6 months ago. Everything was relatively fine (except Android Auto).

The charging limit issue has popped up in the last couple of weeks.

I also noticed the auto high beam has stopped working about 2 months ago. I'm not so bothered about that - in fact I prefer it without auto high beam.

Maybe I need to go back to the dealer.

I had the same issue. The dealers had it in twice for investigation. They attempted to resolve it with a software update which was unsuccessful. Following more to-ing and fro-ing with screen shots they raised a case with MG.
On the second visit they did more software updates which have fixed it. Been OK for 6 weeks now.

Software bugs are quite odd when 1 car has a problem that hundreds or possibly thousands of others with the same software version do not have. Then an update is done and the new version doesn't fix it either. Then they do another which would appear to be a bug fix patch and it works. Weird.

Thanks. I'll speak to the dealer on Monday.
