Hi. Over the weekend the iSMART APP appeared to be down. I checked again this morning, the wheel goes round, as the APP tries to communicate with the car. But after 30 seconds it gives up and reports “the request timed out, please try again later”.
The app is very good, especially now, as it allows the AC and heated seat and steering wheel to be remotely switched on.
Has anyone else experienced this.
Many thanks Noel.

I've had no problem over the w/e.

The only problem I have is me comparing this App with MyPeugeot App which gave me a record of my journeys and cost of each one.

Thanks David. I had problems setting it up in the first place, it appeared that the car could not access the GPS signal. The dealer sorted it, but I can’t remember what he did.
Cheers Noel

Hi David.
I went out to the car and used the recommended poke and hope process🫢 and now everything seems to be back to normal🤗.
No doubt, after doing this, I will, discover something else that I’ve inadvertently disabled. Owning this car is akin to a voyage of discovery.⛵

Hi Ann. Not sure what I did, or if it just came back on its own, but iSMART is working again.
Please could you do me a favour?
I find the Apple Carplay navigation screen too bright at night, and there appears to be no way to dim it.
So I thought I could try using the cars inbuilt navigation. But once again, what passes for the manual is sadly lacking. I’ve scoured both online manuals, but there’s not even a reference to navigation anywhere.
Could you had a quick look at yours, to see if you can see it please.
If anybody else reads this, can you shed any light on where to find this information.
Many thanks Noel.

I had the same issue when I had mine two weeks ago. I scouted round the menus and found where the problem is (which is what I think your dealer would have done). From memory it’s something like this:-

1.) From the home screen swipe left and select settings.
2.) Select the Privacy policy option (think it’s the very bottom one)
3.) Make sure you’ve accepted the privacy policy and then enable the Global Data Switch option

My iSmart app connected straight away after this.

Cheers,

Steven.

Yes having the same issue, did work briefly on Thursday, just checked now and the wheel of fortune just keeps spinning and then times out with the error message. Grrrrr.

I’m having the same problem today and did a few times last week. Annoying as I cant preheat the car on this cold morning

I experienced an issue with the app today after what looks like an upgrade to version 2.0.7. The app requested a login which I did using my email address and was accepted. Howeve, the app would not allow me to access the vehicle and requested me to bind to it despite the fact that I recieved an engine start message from the car.
It transpired that if I logged in using my phone number the app functioned Ok.
The security settings allow the selection of both email and phone number but I dont ever get the required one time pass code to enable it.

I am now convinced that the iSMART App stops working when the outside temperature drops to 2°C or below.

When the temperature goes down, the car is no longer able to connect to the app.

How ironic, when the app is supposed to connect to the vehicle to allow heating. When the temperature rises, the app reconnects.

As previously stated by others, I just get the spinning wheel of fortune, that eventually times out.

Would be great to hear if anyone else finds this problem only happens in the cold.

Just tried my app and not working, 'the wheel of fortune' just times out.

Now you make a good point about the weather being cold at the moment being 0°, so I'm going to monitor it.
Not sure why it being cold would have any effect or not but hey who knows.

I agree with you about it not working at the time when it would be nice to pre warm the interior. Very inconvenient 😨😱

I think you’re onto something here….on reflection I‘ve only had this problem in cold weather
