Hi All,
Just to ask question on this thread. I recently purchased Ionity Passport for a long tip planned for germany. however issue with chargers.
I follow the app, select charger, give payment which is accepted, plug in.
It says preparing to charge and then charging then drops with no charge added. I never had a problem with Ionity before on electroverse or card but this is strange. I phoned up customer services but no help, they say car disconnects which can not be the case.
To check I went to osprey nearby to check if that is fine and it was but that ws PAYG.
Anyone else had an issue as described ?
I really do not want to use Tesla !
Double check the plug was 100% in, did the locking latch engage, if it's not quite aligned and doesn't engage then the handshake will fail
Some people have suggested holding the plug during handshake until the car locks it in place helps with various cars , this is largely due to the weight of the CCS plugs, sometimes the top bit can pull out slightly, all the communications are on the bit at the top and I believe it's designed in such a way that the communication pins will always get disconnected before any of the current carrying pin.

yes I saw that and it clicked and the display in the car said connected but not charging, I will attempt one more go at it because I can the idea of Ionity !! I will try what you suggest as well but in the situation you describe I seem to go past the handshake ?
If the handshake completes successfully and all the DC isolation tests pass then the next step would be to apply power, as this is not happening then it would suggest the car or the charger either didn't handshake properly or saw something they didn't like.

hmm the customer services could not tell be on three different plugs. There is not another site close enough to me to check it out further so will attempt one last chance there using your suggestion before I have to go and try ionity in Banbury or Cobham services.
