I got my first MG EV on Thursday. The ismart app seems to be pants.
Today it won't refresh and pages.
It is impossible to set up a charging schedule.

The last effective refresh was 1hr ago.

Does the MG server have an issue or is this normal.

The car seems great but the app really ruins the brand experience.

I have very little trouble with iSmart, and use it quite a lot. There are occasions when it appears that the servers are overloaded, but it's never for very long in my experience.

I use iSmart to remote heat the car on frosty mornings, cool it in the Summer when we're packing up to leave the beach. I set timed charging with it, or override timed charging when I've plugged in away from home and forgotten it was set.

It's by no means perfect, I think the programming must have been done by work experience College students in China, but for me, it's still useful!

I use it regularly to check what the charge level is, as other people use the car occasionally, and sometimes when rapid charging I can't see the charge level from the charger's app. Also it can be very useful to unlock the car if you don't have your key with you. I haven't used it yet to remotely warm or cool the car, but I may well use this function in the future.

yeah, no problems with mine either... yes, sometimes it takes a bit longer to refresh and it also depends on location and whether there is a decent mobile signal in the area but, overall, happy to have it even if it worked half the time ...

One of the "tricks" (not to say "hack" - can't stand that word 🤢!) is to refresh it twice when you open the app, leave it for 10-20 sec to connect to your car (if you are nearby, it will also connect via Bluetooth) and then refresh again by pulling the screen view down, gets it going much faster.

It's not any techno-miracle but it does show you charge level, you have battery heating option and defrost option, can use the phone to unlock and drive if needed, can guide you to your parked car ...

Also, as far as i know - correct me if I'm wrong, it's a 3rd party app, not MG.

Well it is stalled today. Last contact to the car was 10:37 & it is now 13:18.
I have cleared the cache memory, logged in & out all no avail.

It only connects when you open and refresh it, it's not always connected. That would eat up battery on your phone and the car

I know I have been opening it & pulling down to refresh it.

In frustration I loaded the app on my tablet. That logged me out of the phone. The app worked.
Logged in on the phone & it is now working. Go figure.

I have found that when it does not want to connect, if i go down and into the battery submenu, it will refresh and when i go back, the rest is also working.

Maybe this is just another way of doing the "refresh twice" fred12345 is talking about

No real problems for me, I use it daily and if it hasn't refreshed I just get to the second page and manually refresh.
It takes 20 to 30 seconds and it has refreshed with no problems.

Thanks. I'll bin it then
It’s not great, but I think that’s an overreaction. The benefits out weigh the instabilities.

Just bear in mind there is a round trip from the phone app to the servers and then to the car. I find hitting the status tab first before doing anything seems to wake everything up.

If you aren’t getting any response at all, I find unlocking and locking the car helps.

Hi all, I've found that clicking the second button along at the bottom and performing a 'scan' of the car usually fires the rest of the app (lock/unlock, heater etc) into life. It's of course a pain as you have to wait for the scan, but I've got into a habit of doing that and 9 times out of 10 it works.
