EU MG4 (all variants) - Service campaign SC077 is out, improving lane assist performance

These fixes seem to be consistent.

But can you tell me what version you had before the update ? And did you perhaps get intermediate updates as well? I'm asking this because LKA become a lot milder with the May 2024 updates.

More: is the charge % ISSUE fixed?
Do you miss the pull down menus (a/c and lka) when using AA/AC?
I went from R46 to R63. When I first got the car in June 2023 it had R30.

I do miss the pull down AC controls which now don't work whilst in Android Auto. But it's not a big deal at all. Steering wheel shortcut button deals with that

The only other update I've had was back in May 2024 when I had a new CCS unit fitted when it stopped AC charging - the update which changed the ACC control from 5mph increments to 1mph. I noticed no change in ACC or LKA performance from that.

Fiest impressions are much better but need more trips to really tell.

Another couple of journeys completed. Around 40 miles now in total. I would go as far to say it drives like a different car. If you were used to turning off LKA for each drive, and used the ACC frequently, I would say it's like driving a different car.

It may be because I have skipped a fair few versions of software and therefore have a bigger gap in experience than others, but it is quite noticeably different.

ACC is more grown up - it doesn't jolt, judder, speed up and slow down - it's much smoother and keeps a consistent gap with the car front rather than speeding up and slowing down. I have found the setting to control the distance has changed. I now use the biggest gap option. I always used the middle setting before but this felt a lot closer post software update.

LKA has really mellowed. Pot hole laden single track A road required some movement towards the white lines. This would have thrown me back to the centre quite aggressively previously. This time, I either get a beep only, or a beep with a very light nudge back to the centre. Not shocking or scary, just as you'd expect. I've also noticed that the country roads I have to use to get to my main A roads are no longer recognised by LKA at all. It stays disabled and doesn't recognise the lines. Which is much better.

Oh, and I now set the AC at 21 and can leave it. No more sudden bursts of cold at 24, requiring a move to 25. Which more often than not resulted in bursts of heat. Always a jump between those two temps for me. 21 sorted it all out and kept a consistent temp.

Good to hear. What was the version you were on before this update?
Very interested why it doesn't recognise the lane markers of country roads anymore. Maybe a more strict trigger minimum speed ?

The infotainment was on R46 and is now R63. Though that only affects the AC stuff.

The only other update I've had was R30 to R46 about a year ago and SCUK001 in May 2024.

I've had the car since June 2023.

Speed for LKA is likely one thing though my country lanes don't all have lines. It would pick up the left side of the road and assumed the entire width of the carriageway was my lane, but obviously wasn't. This was the most dangerous part of it - it would throw you into the centre of the road!

What LKA Sensitivity do you have set please? (Low, Medium, High)

The LKA in the ICE Corsa courtesy car I have at the moment is barely noticeable ... probably because it only seems to detect lane markings on dual carriageways and motorways. And if it detects double lines on one side it seems to ignore those markings.

It defaults to low. I leave it on low. It always was defaulted to low.

LKA in mine remembers whatever the last sensitivity setting was. (As it happens I have it on low anyway).

When I emailed my dealer he said he'd get mine in for the update when I get my car back from repair. I have an SE SR, so I'd wager that it also applies to the SE LR. ;)

How soon will it be back, it was just a rear screen and light cluster, wasn't it?

Curious to hear what happens if there are markers at both sides dual direction single lane....
Also, the third and default mode (ELK) was supposed to recognize other edges of lanes apart from the markers. So why doesn't it do this now? Of course it could be you do not use that mode..

I sent an email last night to ask - awaiting a reply. There's also some scratching that might just T-cut and polish out, or might need that panel and charge port cover repainting.

Here's hoping you get lucky with the scratches, polishing them out would be better than having it painted.

Interesting... After a first drive in the dark, this update also appears to have changed the auto main beam behaviour for the better too. It is much quicker to switch to dipped when it sees another car and is quicker to switch back too.

I am guessing as the LKA uses the cameras, this was an ideal time to update the lights response too?

Or maybe when you got this update you also got another update to improve the auto-lights? (That some of us have had previously).

Something else for me to look out for when I eventually get my car back then get the updates. 🤦‍♂️

Lights depend on a specific sensor, not the camera: Sensor

Mine is booked for Tuesday!
Mine a day after yours.

I had a play with the new version yesterday and LKA was certainly less intrusive (although I've never found it bad enough to turn off every drive), almost not noticeable but it did bring the car back in lane as I drifted - I'm not sure if it will be enough to correct a more significant drift into the next lane though?

There are definitely some other changes that I got just before Christmas that smoothed out ACC, guess these are also getting applied now. I've never had a problem with the auto headlights though so that didn't seem any different last night

No changes to auto braking though as that kicked in this afternoon as I was getting ready to turn right and slowing to let a van go past in the other direction - I was nearly stopped, so why it thought it had to slam the brakes on for the couple of mph i dont know :ROFLMAO:
