MG4 Trophy LR
I've had my MG4 for two weeks now and I'm loving it! I got it new, and the dealer did all the updates before I collected it.

The AC seems a bit hit and miss—though better than what I’ve read about before the latest update. If I set it to 22°C, it warms up the car but then seems to slow down, blowing cooler air until the temperature drops. It then kicks back in with warm air, repeating this cycle.

Is this normal behaviour, or is there a way to keep the temperature more consistent?

There have been software updates to correct it, fairly recent.

You need the most up to date infotainemtn software. R38 on an SE and I can’t remember which on the trophy/xpower delivered to the car by USB stick then the important part is the follow up update of the HVAC module connecting with dealer kit. It really settles it down.

Hi
Thanks I do have the latest software R63 for Trophy so guessing working better than it did for people before. Just wish it would not start slowly blowing cold air once it reaches temp. :-(

Sounds like they may not have applied the HVAC module update.

In the car, can you set the Charge Limit bar (e.g. change from Health Mode - 80% - to Long Range Mode - 100%) after pressing the Battery tile to access it? If not then that means R63 was updated by USB but they didn't connect to SIPS to do the configuration update; which probably also adds to the evidence of the HVAC update being missed.

Hi thanks.
Yep I can set the charge bar limiter as described. They did assure me the car was connected and all updates done. Other updates like improved LKA are there. I have used the dealer for going in three years and they are normally honest on this :-)

The AC is set to 22 and does not need to be set real high to get warm. It’s just the slow cold air that comes out once it reaches temp.

Is that set on Auto ?

I have mine set to 26 and it's still blows fairly cold..... Now running at 28 with fan speed 2, and it still feels cold.....
I think our Aussie software still has the 5 degree difference. So 28 is more like 23 in most cars. I too have to push the heat up quite a bit before it starts heating.

No matter what I put mine on when I drive it's cool, despite deicing this morning when I wasn't in it, so I know the AC works. I will have words with the dealer this coming Monday.

I took my car in to my local MG dealership and annoyingly, it seems the person who installed my hand controls disconnected the heating element from the wiring under the footwell and did not connect it again, meaning no heat. I felt pretty silly tbh but I wasn't to know.
