Having driven cars with gears and a clutch, which in early days had crash boxes at least on lower gears my left foot must have got bored moving to an EV in 2016.

I have realised that I now use my right foot for the power and left foot for the brake, especially in traffic or on narrow lanes.

I cannot remember when I first did this but I do it all the time now.

I had a think on why I do this, no I don't think my left foot is bored but maybe it stops it getting stiff being unused so needs some action. It also saves a second or 2 on reactions between the transition between power & brake giving an even bigger EV advantage!

Anyone else done this?

Having had a manual virtually all my life, when I tried this I discovered that I stopped very very quickly. :D

I did at first too! Sharp braking due to muscle training for the clutch! No issues anymore, its easier!

I too have been a left braker since my first automatic - a Ford Cortina 1.6GL (Mk5).

Funny thing is, I do not make any conscious effort to use a particular foot, but even on the same journey I will be using both feet to brake (not simultaneously!), sometimes my left, sometimes my right.

I can hop in a manual, and again my feet work properly without having to think about it.

It's just the way my brain works I guess.
