New owner ZS EV first edition,

I notice I sometimes don't get hot air. It stays just warm for a while (30/35 degrees from air exhaust). After 30 minutes it is hot (45/50 degrees from air exhaust).
When the fan is also set high it realy cools down the air a lot. After turning the heat up and down a bit and the fan also, I do get a lot warmer air. Now I don't know if this has to do with time or me playing with it.

The funny thing is, there is a ticking that can be heard when having HVAC on and it is heard on almost all heater levels. When I turn down the heater completely and turn it up again, the ticking is only heard at the higher levels.

Hope this makes sense a bit. Can anyone confirm if this is normal or not?

I think the ticking sound is normal as I get it on my car too.

Heat from the cabin heater is reduced when you are using Eco mode.
In normal and sport, the heater will provide the max heat output.

Yes I noticed. In normal I need to have 4 red blocks to have a nice temperature inside (3 degrees and rainy outside).

Still it is very unresponsive. When I turn it down again to cooler air and back up to warm, it takes like 5 minutes before the heat is back. Need to set it to max to realy get it going. After turning it down to 3/4 red blocks it is ok and it stays comfortable.

That is one of the aims of using Eco mode.
If you select Eco mode and then increase he demand for heat, then it just defeats the object.
One of the biggest consumer of range, is the heater.
By selecting Eco mode you effectively reduce the power provided by the traction motor and the cabin heater, this is in attempt to save / protect your range.
Other members have said that their heaters in previous owned ICE cars provided more heat.
I do mainly agree with this, but the electric heater in the ZS EV is pretty good compared to other EV’s.
Because we all understand that more heat means less range, we are tempted to reduce the heat setting to help balance out the loss in range.
Basically turning down the heat a little too early.
Most of the energy loss is caused by getting the cabin up to comfortable temperature, maintaining that temperature after has less demand of energy / range loss.
Here is a great video that explains it much better than I do !.

Nice clip, thanks. Still the settings and heating I am talking about above is in normal mode. Not in Eco.

Then you might possibly have a problem. I too have to slow the blower down for it to heat up more. That is because if the air is flowing quickly it spends less time in contact with the heater elements so picks up less heat.
