Turn off main infotainment screen and after setting the cruise controll putting my cap over the smal screen, and it's finaly dark enough to be comfortable for me. And yes, sometimes it forget dimmer setting and change it to next step up.

    MG4 virtual engine sound?

Have noticed the same as Rolfe, sheep do not get startled by the MG4. Roe deer and deer do not get spooked as they do when driving my ICE car. Horses are calmer too. Of course all this is depending on the speed one approaches the animals.

    Jump Starting an MG4 SR

As mentioned the reason for having the battery needing a jump normally not connected on both terminals (negative somewhere else in the car) is the possibility for hydrogen gases being vented from the empty battery (actually it's when a battery is charged it vents gases or if it's damaged). To be...

    MG4 Software Update Thread

Oh, forgot to mention that the mecanic can't do anything else with the car while it's updating. I got the impression that he was not very impressed with the MG update system.

    MG4 Software Update Thread

My English mecanic (yes here in Norway ?), told me that each module he had to update took him half an hour. That's why my service went to 4 hours instead of the normal 2 1/2 hour. P.s. No r59 in Norway and I can from experience say that the Norwegian MG importer plays it safe with the updates...

    MG4 Software Update Thread

Oh yeah they can, as it says in post 3334: They mean R59 pacage. ACC, LKA, AUTO LIGHTS etc. Is module updates, I guess MG want some of the modules updated to make the R59 work. These updates were done on my car when updating to R46.

    Question about adaptive regen

Drive a bit on known and diverse roads with regen 2 and then move to Adaptive and have an eye on the regen numbers at same places as my experiences seem to differ a bit from yours (mine is a phase one Luxury/Trophy). That said, these cars differ a bit in their behaviour depending on the...

    MG4 Software Update Thread

My Luxury/Trophy did improve a lot regarding responsiveness when updated from 1300R31 to R44, but I have noticed that the startup time for the infotainment now is significantly longer with R46 as it now always has a full startup. Jury still out on LKA, but it seems to be gentler (more nudging...

    MG4 Software Update Thread

Recently had my Luxury/Trophy phase one in at 1 year service (may 30th). It went in with R44 and some other updates from last fall (mostly some bether lane assist, infotainment and lock in updates and so ones). Came out with R46 (ok I guess, mostly a bluethoot fix) but more importently with...

    Charging pad/USB power output

When playing music/videos (use Youtube to play music) or using TomTom navigation my phone can not be charged fast enough to keep its charge on the pad, so I plug in a charger instead. Disclaimer: My Samsung Note 9 is quite old.

    Power consumption

A lot, as in always. ? And yes it does. Had a little electric van as a courtesy car and in that I had to kill the heater to get home to charge, it was quite a big difference in consumtion to be honest.

    Power consumption

Seems about right, my Luxury is in the same balpark in winter here at the coast of Norway (Sunnmøre) in those temps. Much better at +7 - 10 C. Oh. I do not do economy driving, just normal driving with the heater on 26-28C and heated seats and steering wheel heat one. What to say, I like...

    Full tail light on SE

I do hope no one is using the car's cables directly to the towhook contact, the system is supposed to be connected via a towhook module with a separate power supply so that the car is separated from the trailer's electrics. The reason I still warn about this is a friend of me who had a not so...

    Boot / trunk opens randomly

Yesterday, when I was going to put groceries in the trunk, the alarm went off. I pressed the trunk switch but didn't hear it unlock and the trunk opened directly without the usual delay when you press the switch and wait for it to open the lock. As far as I know, the car was otherwise locked and...
