NEW MG HS PHEV data connection

Hi all,

I am new to the forum. I have just pura new MG HS PHEV 2024 Trophy and at first the data worked fine, ie updating the weather widget and playing amazon music I subscribed to. Now all of a sudden it doesn't work. I held the home button for 10 seconds to try and reset but this didn't work.
I can connect using ismart for remote features.
The car updates if I connect through WiFi at home, but as soon as I drive off the weather widget does not work and amazon music can't be played online.
Any ideas about this?

Answer my own question but down to the 1GB sim cap per month.
Why have a car widget for Amazon music that stops after 2 or 3 days? No way to increase the 1GB, however this should be unlimited shouldn't it? Strange. Also now I pay Amazon and can't use in car until data refreshes on the 1st.

Hi there, I have just discovered the same problem. I couldn't figure it out. It's ridiculous only offering 1GB

The only work around I can figure out is to connect to your phone hot-spot and use your data

Hi, I have to use Android Auto and play Amazon that way. I bought a wireless Bluetooth dongle so it just uses phone data.
My screen failed, drivers side and had to be replaced, also after software update at MG the favourite buttons no longer work on the steering wheel. Apparently MG are trying to find the fault and will release an update. Another car had same issue, and also someone on YouTube contacted me as their screen failed as well. Not a great start and my first MG.

Hi, can you confirm that Android Auto connection is over cable only? It's a shame that a new car in 2024 does not support wireless

I must admit that I use Android Auto for Amazon Music, Google Maps or Waze. It also has other apps and contacts I use. Wireless connection would have been better like my last car. SO far no screen problem. A couple of more physical buttons would have been useful. Overall I like driving the car it's very comfortable in the cabin and I use the battery most of the time.

Yep, I got the car a month ago, and I have to use a cable. It's shocking it's not wireless. A feature I like is the ability to heat the car and seats for ten minutes from the App which the salesman didn't know about. It's great in this weather (I'm in Scotland)
