Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

Keys can be done via SIPS

Config like that unfortunately would be controlled by China as the configuration is done by a file that's downloaded from their server and then loaded to the car, we can't even load custom files even if we created them as far as I'm aware
If dealerships have an issue they write to MG China that can make changes in the backend to allow alternative files to be loaded

Do you have manipulation for keys via SIPS?

THANKS

I purchased a VNCI diagnostic unit and managed to set up an account. SIPS worked without issue; however, I cannot for the life of me get VDS installed. Anyone else have issue with the installation of VDS?
Have the VNCI dongle on order and have created a company account with MG ready for when it arrives. Have the same problem though with VDS on my laptop - just refuses to install, period! Install wizard gets to the License Agreement page and then instantly goes to an Installation Aborted message when I click agree.

I figured it out. It was due to not being able to install .NET Framework 3.5. Actually, I ended up fixing it by creating a Oracle VM, now I just need to get the hardware working with the VM...
This was also my problem - was able to activate .NET Framework 3.5 in windows 11 and then it installed. Hopefully, won't have any problems running it once I buy some access after the VNCI unit turns up...

Hi all, I drive an MG ZS EV 2022, but I see here quite an active discussion on software updates, my question is related to SIPS, has anyone ever experienced an issue with constant errors while updating IPK (Instrument pack) module? Reprogram/re-config takes a very long time and the process breaks every time at different phases. Currently, the instrument cluster does not light up at all, so no recovery to the working old version.
SIPS communicates with the module but the process breaks at random times suggesting contacting TAC (which is a bit difficult as no dealers within 400km.)

Ok, I have the VNCI dongle (updated firmware) and VCI/VDS/SIPS successfully installed on a laptop, ready to go and RMI account all set up etc - some questions before I experiment with buying access time, if you wouldn't mind answering please.

Queries as follows:

My XPower currently has R59, upgraded from R40 as supplied, and with the dealer appearing to have done the key module updates incl ACC, LKA, HVAC under PDI. It also came with FICM MCU version 68.4.7.0 installed. The intention is to check/update all modules plus R63 & TBOX update.

Does the clock start from time of purchase i.e. for 1hr or 1day or is that treated as a block of time that could theoretically be used up over several days?

What’s best – to do general SIPS update, then FICM and TBOX and then a final SIPS install specific to those? Plus;

I assume it will do the TBOX 23E32 update as part of the post USB reconfiguration via SIPS?

Does SIPS update the FICM MCU, following above procedure, to a newer version than 68.4.8.0?
The FL5 has FICM version R12 (vs R15 & R17 since released) but don’t know what the latest MCU version should be. The major issue with this is that the dealer didn’t do the Tesla chargers update - however, I’ve not encountered any alarming behaviours with anything else to date, albeit it’s still only done a few miles.

Would be nice to bring this fully up to date – has anyone heard of the FICM USB files for the FL5 being available, otherwise I’ll likely be restricted to just doing some of the modules?

If possible, I’d also like to attempt to clear/reset a long-term stop/start system initiation failure on a 2016 FL MG6 TDi

Believe SIPS/VDS will cover all MG models back to something like 2012?

I can't answer all of the points, but, regarding purchase of time I tested this last week by purchasing 1 hour. It actually granted me 2 hours which is valid from the time of purchase. It's clearly marked under your profile as to when the time starts/ends. It'd be great if it was based on a 'metered' usage, but sadly it isn't.

IMPORTANT: if you don't log out, or if the software crashes, then you are locked out for 30 minutes (you'll receive a message stating that another computer is logged in!)

You then have to wait for 30 minutes before being able to login again. Very frustrating UX!

I had the same issue while updating the IPK an error popped up and the IPK lights went off. So, I updated the VNCI, hooked up a battery charger to the car and used replacement mode in SIPS to reprogram the IPK. It took about 2 hours, but the programming worked and the IPK was back to normal.

Thanks for sharing good to know that someone had a similar experience, I had done all you mentioned, but it crashes every time, sometimes within 5 min other times after 30-40 min :( Now I got advice that some modules might wake up the system and break the installation and I was suggested to try to disconnect some modules before the update so I eliminate the possibility of the system waking up.

Thanks. So is it a reasonably safe bet to assume one 'day' purchased would last 24hrs from time of payment?

Hi, is the new IMCU software quicker off line then the old one?

I have had a service and I am considering whether to argue with my dealer about this update.

IMCU? Do you mean FICM? (i.e. the Infotainment screen).

In the UK at least you don't automatically get an update to FICM; there needs to be an underlying issue (e.g. Bluetooth connection issues) that an FICM update may resolve.

No, Intelligent Motor Control Unit.

In israel they do FICM (i am on R59) but they don't do SIPS update as standard as i feel (no way to check)

Hi
I have a problem logging in to VDS3.
SIPS logs in without a problem. I tried to connect to different networks (mobile, fiber optic), unfortunately I have a message as in the picture. Network problem... I turned off antivirus, windows defender. I have installed the latest fix for VDS.

Do you have any idea what could be blocking it - I would be grateful for your help.
Tom

Edit: I solved it - the problem was the tunneling program (tailscale)

Hello guys, does anybody know our little black screen's apk name which is in front of steering? Infotainment is SAIClauncher.apk what is the little one I couldn't figured out

This little Display is not an APK running on the Infotainment. It is an independent module that communicates with the FICM. As it is safety-related, it should function reliably even without infotainment.

I recently created my company account, I'm just waiting for my interface. ;)

I saw that you can download the software from the RMI website (after logging in and paying) in the side menu under menu item 10, but I was redirected to "Digidentity Wallet".

After registering with Digidentity Wallet, nothing happened, so I deleted my account with DW again... 😳

I'm having trouble registering a company account at the RMI website.

Can anyone confirm that the "turnover tax id" has to be the valid VAT number for the company name? (rather than the registered company number).

I've been through the account registration process, but the site won't accept my credentials.

My VNCI VD13 interface arrived today, and I already have the software installed on my laptop (downloaded from @halloweenhamster's Google drive), so I just need to get an account activated to start using it.

Leave it blank, it's not necessary.
For SIPS version, watch out : you need to use the last version or at lease one of last version (1.0.2.5 013 or 1.0.2.5).
When you bought access from MRI, there's a software section to download an updated version.

Don't do anything you're not sure or you're going to brick your car...
