Probably won’t get an MG4 again

I never had any faults at all with my Toyotas during my 10 year ownership from 2010 to 2020, just one recall for a wiring harness position check under the bonnet, which was done on a service.
I've got my eye on the new, Toyota full electric Urban Cruiser coming out later this year for my next EV, it's smaller and cheaper than their current offering, the BZ4X. I'll be looking out for reviews and specs and going for a test drive.
I would have gone back to Toyotas and bought the BZ4X if it had been smaller and under £35k.

It is a seriously understeering car. Compared to the MG4, it drives like tank.

The drive of the MG4 is the biggest plus, I actually like driving the wife's, it's not as sharp or solid as my born but it out handles my family members Renault Megane which is FWD.
The cheap interior, niggles and the battles just to get things looked at under warranty would make it a no go for us in the future. As it is it is a company fleet car and just over a year in they have said they will not be renewing deal with MG after the current one, too many cars with too many issues and far to long delays with work to get ones looked at repaired.

BZ4X is a bit of a bargain now compared to its new price.

Wow, €3000 more than I paid for my Xpower and only 175kW instead of 320kW and that price is FROM €33,900........

This German reviewer has VWs and is constantly complaining about the software in his videos:

I don't doubt there are still some issues, I was merely saying my experience hasn't involved a single issue in my Born.
I know people who complained constantly about it but are happy now.

Fair enough - I vaguely remember hearing that the Born doesn't suffer from the same issues, even though it is a VW group car.

Maybe it is just the VW branded ones that suffer for some reason!

Hmmm. Which? magazine rates its big bro Enyaq highly....

I'll try and find the article.
Not an article, just a mention in a list of the large SUVs.

It is a breath of fresh air....everything you'd want from a large electric SUV....decent range....safe handling....excellent infotainment system.
Quality build and easy to drive.

A best buy with 83%.

5 stars for performance, ride quality and ease of driving and 3 for reliability.

3 for reliability sounds low, but consider this: the ID4 and Q8 e-tron Sportback both got one star for reliability. Of the best buy EVs on test, only one car got more stars for reliability and that was the iX3. The Sportage got 4 too, but that was a hybrid.

Bet you're wondering what they wrote about the MG4....

A lot going for it...attractive price...powerful and refined motor...enjoyable to drive...not the most practical car but space for tall people all round...2 star reliability is a concern...active safety tech a concern, which MG is preparing an update for.

Stars in the same order as the Enyaq....4, 3, 3, 2.

Does salsac work with secondhand cars ? There are some good bargains out there for originally much higher value cars, although the forums won't be as good as this one! Good luck and let us know your eventual choice.
Yes you can get salsac in second hand cars, but it’s a small pool of cars as tend to be just the returned cars from that salsac company.

So, you folk are firm fans of RWD over front?

And you would discount any VAG cars due to the slack software?

From my list, that leaves me the Ioniq 5!

As a huge procrastinator, at least that has sorted one decision!

Although Which? gave it 1 star for reliability. You can't win them all....

The new Born with the bigger screen and enhanced software is a shout.
