MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

Totally agree, I've said previous everything is a debate and a drawn out pain in the proverbial trying to get stuff fixed.

MGs attitude to the vibe and ongoing issues (in some cases) with the wonky under tray that they classed both as characteristics of the car sum up their attitude to after sales.
Yes the cars are cheaper and for the most part good value but (if you accept some of the obvious cost savings) there is still no excuse for crap after sales.
No matter how fast the X power takes off from lights
The X power has been my first ever new car with a warranty ( ex demo ) but for the most part new car ..

Is this what dealers do regularly??

I would have thought ( I’ve said this before) there is issues , fix them take the hit on cost happy customer repeat business!!

They can make great cheap cars im very impressed with that suv I’ve been driving ..

Give me ev more grunt awd and I’m sold !

MG really need to be careful because there is like a 100 other Chinese car companies looking to shove there business into AUS not to mention other countries..

MG have for the most part make great cheap cars they just seem to fail miserably at after sales service and support ..

Which makes no sense to me ..

Agreed. It's as though they are saying, we've given you a cheap, pretty good car.
What more do you want! 🙄🤪😡

Give us good customer service 🤔🤔

I would have figured that would be a no brainer ..

I’ve contacted MG Australia 3 times 3weeks ago with a 24 hour turnaround contact back ..

Heard nothing for 3 weeks now !!!

This is NOT acceptable!

Comforting to know they are as crap in Australia as they are in the UK, at least they are consistent

If leasing make sure you have the option to give it back after the term of the lease .

Some leasing companies do and some don’t! ...............

I think you're getting mixed up between a lease and PCP ?.

Here in the UK a lease hire car is not owned by you, it's just like a long term car rental from the finance company. It's always fixed for a certain period at a set monthly price. The whole point of a lease is to avoid finance and depreciatoin costs as the finance company take all that risk. They also pay the VED Tax here in the UK. You never get a V5 document as they own the car.

At the end of the lease they come and collect the car .... nothing more to pay (unless it's damaged over and above fair wear and tear of course).

Okay guys got my car back from MG and its fixed no more vibration !!!

Just came back from some testing up to 100km/h fine over 100km/h feels the same as below100km/h put it up to 150km/h nothing no vibration back to 90km up to and over 100km and all im feeling is road surface..

Drove down the free way at around 107km/h 110km/ and no vibration

If anything it just feels like road surface at any speed from low speed to 150km/h

I figured i would attach a pic ( do what you will with it for your own issue ) of the things done to my car to fix the issue ..

I would seriously think about taking a copy of my invoice to your own dealer and say i want this done !!

!!! which has all the part numbers and what was done !!!

panel shop in 2 days for who knows how long then the dash cam

Then buckled rim is going to be claimed on warranty then lowering in a few months just to let it settle in and see if vibe returns !!

I wish everyone with X power vibe issues the best of luck but this has fixed my vibration issue !!

Huge shout out to the service manager and the guys at Ferntree gully MG ( now closed ) for helping me out SO much !!

Still pissed at MG for closing you down you were great !!

And to the guys at Waverley MG for doing the fix and providing me with a loan car great service thank you !!

WOW! Result! Brilliant! News. 🙂👍

Thanks for posting m8-T 👍

At the very least, there is a bonifide fix to stop the vibration.

ITS ALL IVE EVER WANTED 😭😭😭

MG UK will now be under serious pressure to resolve our issues.

I'm still pushing ahead with rejection because MG UK have just buried their heads in the Bloody Sand trotting out the characteristic bollox.

Really pleased for you m8. 👍

Brilliant news and what we all (well most) believed all along - why go to the trouble of developing and manufacturing these parts/kit if it 'didn't work' as MG UK claimed!

Weirdly, now ours has hit 13k miles, the vibration has virtually gone, even without having to pump the tyres up to high pressures. I almost didn't notice - was ambling along a dual carriage at ~70mph last week enjoying some tunes when it suddenly dawned on me that the steering wheel wasn't buzzing away as it normally does.

Experimented at a few different speeds and could only detect a very faint trace of it very occasionally. I mean ours wasn't bad compared to what others described (especially after the dealer fitted the Michelins at 300 miles) but it was noticeable, so it's weird that's virtually disappeared now. Not complaining though!

Nice one @ilukey77, the vibration problem with mine is so minimal that I'm not sure it even needs fixing, but it's good to hear you've got yours sorted.
Your call but there is a fix..

While MG would hate me saying this ..

It’s a new car with a warranty and the vibration even if small shouldn’t be there this is why I fought ..

My logic has been this is a middle finger to MG of sorts and the more people showing them that middle finger will FORCE change !

To their credit I guess money saved is money saved ..

If I ran a company with a defective product I would want to try my best to eliminate any excessive costs repairing said product be it morally, ethically and legally wrong.

This is why I got the road force wheel balance BS to deter me from pursuing it further!

It’s a fight and if I’m honest my vibration wasn’t really bad it was the principle of it .

While I cannot tell people what to do my best advice is find a dealer prepared help you out and stuck with it MG has to fix these issues

Mine was on and off but it would (sometimes) vibrate the whole cabin the faster I went it was always there unless I put it in eco then it would disappear..

As I said in my previous post it’s the principle of it ..

It’s a new car with a warranty that has a fixable fault ( not a characteristic because there is a fix) that should be fixed!!

Great news, looks like shi...bucket loads of work

MG bean counter: 😱

Keep us up to date. 🙂

Mine's there, but goes away. Up or down Lappo hill (90km/h concrete motorway curve), it's annoyingly loud, and I can feel my hands vibrating, but on my long drive, that included 50-110km/h stretches, I didn't notice again until I came back up Lappo. I sat very close to speed limits on all highways/motorways, so should have been in the vibe zone a fair bit of my day. More days of testing required! 😁

I haven't been back to my dealer about it yet - I need to work out how angry it will make me. If it was always like Lappo Hill I'd be furious, but so far it's not badly impacting my regular driving.

I was all set to buy an X-Power but after reading this entire thread I have decided against it. Whilst the vibration issue seems to be fixed on the latest model from everything I have read, the experience a lot of you have gone through has turned me off the idea completely. Have turned my attention back to the car I was looking at in the first place before spotting the X-Power, the BYD Seal.

I love the Seal, it will be my next car once I get rid of my X Power. I hope MG UK see this and realise they have lost a sale...the more people that do this, the more chance we may get for MG UK to fix our cars.
Goodluck with the Seal, I hope you really enjoy it chap.

Fair enough, it's your choice.
The Seal seems like a good car. 🙂👍
