Hi all
Any idea how to leave my MG5 charge state as I will be not driving it for around 5 weeks?
Thanks
P

It's covered in the owner's manual:
Charge State.webp

I left my MG5 pre facelift long range last year for seven weeks in total. It was at about 70% charge when I left it and it started and ran perfectly on my return. The car was sitting outside on the driveway during July To September with no problems, a great car.

If everything is working properly it should be just fine.
The car is supposed to charge the 12v battery when it needs it.
I would buy a cheap car starter power pack. I always have one in any car but for an EV you only need a cheap one so it seems a sensible precaution against a battery or charging system going bad.

What a waste of money 🤩 I’ve had one for a few years and never needed it 🤣
I do charge it a few times a year just to remind it that I still love it 🙄

That feature doesn’t work as advertised

… better look at it than for it…

I've actually used mine more to start other people's cars than my own but if it saves just one wait for the AA to turn up then it is well worth the money.

7-weeks with no problem? i have taken my pre-facelift MG5LR to music festivals, & on the second day parked up there has been a message telling me my 12V was getting Iow - did opening the door & closing the door really drain the 12V? & how & when does the HV kick in? is there a setting i don't know about that needs tweaking?

My 5 had an 8 weeks layup with no precautions other than leaving the charge at about 80%. No problems.
Hi. Could you tell us what M/KWH you get in your mg5 ev LR in the Winter and Summer for comparison. Thanks

A faulty 12V aux doesn’t last long without a regular charge. Opening the door turns on the interior lights, if they aren’t LED type, then that could be enough of a load to drain a weak one over time.

Despite being advertised, there is no automatic top up of the 12V aux when the car is off, therefore the ‘safe’ lay-up duration depends purely on the state of the 12V battery.
