    Tyre pressures..

On the SE the units are always Bar eg 2.6. KPa is the same but with the decimal point moved eg 2.6 bar = 260 KPa - though the latter in the photo has the extra digit (eg same as 2.68 bar) which I wish mine showed for more accuracy.

He said 2.5 pence per mile. It is 7.5p / KWh.

    Charging on ohme/octopus

That’s great detail and how I use my ohm and IO. If it’s at 60% and I want it at 100 (it’s a short range SE so ok) I tell it to add 45%, better over than under. Do you know what would happen if I asked it to add say 80% in those circumstances? I suspect it would just add 40% to get it 100%, do...

    Headlight anomalies

I've tested the light switch and locking the car. LIGHT SWITCH RH position - auto lights, come on when shadows or darkness is sensed, but do not come on when it just rains. Mid position - turns the sidelights on, DRL at the front, plus tail lights. Stay on when car is locked and shut down...

    Headlight anomalies

Ah ok, that makes sense in that the parking lights do need to be able to be left on when needed. However I had turned the headlights on rather than the parking lights while driving. I will play with it when I have time and see how it works. to answer the other question, I shut the car down by...

    Headlight anomalies

No, that's separate and always available when in auto lights mode. it is basically that if you swith the headlights on manually (eg in bright mist, or rain on a bright day when they don't come on automatically) they don't turn off when the car is locked, and there was no warning 'ding' or...

French EV hire car - how does charging work?

Interesting anyway, as hire companies will have to move to EV at some point. It was a steep learning curve regarding my own MG4 and charging, apps, payment, etc, and I had wondered how hire companies could rent EVs to ordinary members of the public with no idea about them if they han't got one...

    Headlight anomalies

Some things are just programmed so badly. As in other threads, the headlights come on even when sunny when a bird flies overhead, when you go near a tree, etc. There are 3D printed light sensor housings that let more light in and reduce the unnecessary "headlights on for 5 seconds" syndrome...

    Replacing factory/stock MG4 tyres

I would say it is good enough for the Midlands, where we only get snow a few days a year, certainly the grip on the crossclimates is far better than conventional tyres, without the cost and hassle of changing them twice a year. They're alo very quiet. You probably get a lot more snow! There...

    Replacing factory/stock MG4 tyres

On my last three cars (BMW and 2 Golf GTi) I've put Michelin Crossclimate tyres on the cars. Very very quiet, with excellent grip in summer, and unusually good grip in winter as they are all season tyres. With the MG4 being rear wheel drive, icy roads can be a bit of a problem (having had a...

Q - how to cancel ACC without dabbing brake

All good ideas. I tried cancelling ACC by pushing the wheel button when at an ACC held speed, it works of course. The speed reduces. The toggle-up button then re-activates it at the previously set speed, the symbol goes green for speed-capture mode. Perfect.

Q - how to cancel ACC without dabbing brake

Hi, I use ACC a lot and like it. Obviously it is set to the current speed by pushing the steering wheel symbol on the steering wheel. The previous set sped can be resumed by pushing the LH toggle up when not active. When active speed + - 5 is via toggle up / down, follow distance by...

    Interior light holder

I did my interior lights today. Removed the clear plastic with a small screwdriver - very easy pulled out the old bulb - easy Licked the end of the new LED bulb and it slid in VERY easily. The 2nd one didn't work, they have a polarity and removing it and turning it 180 deg and re-inserting...

    Intelligent Octopus rates falling

Hi I've just had an email from Octopus, for charges from 1 July. The 6 hours of low cost electricity (23.30-05.30 approx) is staying the same at 7.5p per KWh The daytime rate is dropping from 40p to 30p per KWh. Standing charges remain the same at 52p per day. You need an Ohme charger etc...
