    MG iSmart 2.0 [merged]

Everyone needs to give one star reviews on the App Store or the Google store. last time when they removed imperial units the feedback on the App Store got them to sort it out within a few days. It is totally unbelievable that software that is this appalling ever gets released.

    MG iSmart 2.0 [merged]

I updated, logged in, and it worked okay there are no advantages over the previous app. However if you don’t use the app for 30 minutes or more it logs you out! So now I have to login every single time like I do with my banking app. You would expect it with a banking app, not with an app that...

2.0 miles/kWh, normal in this cold weather? (UK)

When I was 8 my dad had a Ford Anglia without a heater. However it's now 2023 and I wouldn't live at home without the heating on, nor would I dream of going in a car without the heater set to about 20°C (ie 25 on the MG). If the temp is 9 degrees outside I'd think that was freezing cold!

    MG4 USB ports?

The original question was "Is there only one USB port that is connected to the infotainment system? I usually have an USB stick with music on in my car, and would be nice if I could use both the stick and phone with android auto at the same time." so I have no idea why you are talking about a...

Do you use AC in winter?

No wonder nothing works properly. I only put the heating system / AC on eco when I'm worrying I just have 20 miles range left.

    Precondition fan speed issue

My fan speed is max when I pre heat, it's an SE SR. Somewhere in the AC settings there is a 'fan speed on auto' and I have mine set to high, not sure if that is relevant. I set the pre-heat on, then go to HVAC and set that to max heat too.

How can you tell which wheel goes on which corner?

Great and thanks. I'm pleased it's sorted. However I'm worried now... My local garage did a 'swap 4 tyres for 4 all-season tyres' job a few weeks ago, I left the car with them for a few hours. They all keep their pressure, 2.6 bar, none lose any and I blew them up with a digita gauge /...

How can you tell which wheel goes on which corner?

There is no way. The sensors in each wheel emit a digital code, recognised by the car computer from when originally programmed as being eg the LH front wheel sensor. When replacing the TPMS valves, they hold the new valve close to the old valve with a programmer unit, to copy the code. The...

    Christmas travel - help!

I've an MG4 SE SR. Usually the trip to work and back, 80 miles of lanes and M6, uses 50% of the battery. I usually think the realisitic range is 160 miles to empty. However yesterday I was driving in towns, stop start, heavy traffic. I did 100 miles in total and the GoM reported a range of...

    End of BST

RD S is an FM thing, not DAB. The car can get the auto time update from the sim card network time, or from sim card GPRS data (like our phones do), from FM RDS radio, possibly from DAB radio data, and if it has an in built GPS system (the Trophy does) then from the GPS system. I don't know...

    Pre heat

Yes it's strange. When I pre heat the cabin via the app on my SE (when it works! Ie when unplugged from the charger, connects to the app, accepts BOTH the heat command and the HVAC temp command, and obeys) it is on for 10 mins, is stroppy if I want longer, and the 10 mins eats 2% of the...

Using negative reviews in the app stores to get things sorted

And the fact that the digital key no longer works (certainly for SE models) to power the car up into ready mode.

New version of iSmart on Apple is in km

We're already calculating using miles/kwh to see how many KWh are needed to get to the destination, converting from KWh to battery percentage, subtracting from 100 to see the % to add on the Ohme home charger, etc. I basically can not be bothered with a totally unncecssary calculation when the...

SE - using iSmart app to drive the car - digital key

Hi a few weeks ago I left the car key in the house so i could try this. I unlocked the car using the app, then sat in it. Using the iSmart app menu option My Profile > Digital key it let me power up the car and drive it. All without the actual key being near. Then I had the updated app on...

Changed distance in app to kM in MG iSmart

It won't help lol, it will just confirm the irritating fact that apple users can no longer think in miles of range.

    Pre heat

my quick (and very irritated fix) is to go to the car, open it, lean onto the driver's seat to put weight on it. The car boots up into ready mode. I then make sure the temp is set to 30 (or do that on my after flight shutdown checklist when parking up the night before lol) and leave it humming...

    Pre heat

One of the reasons I switched to EV was the thought of pre heating the car on cold summer / autumn / winter / spring mornings. How easy and amazing that would be. I have an SE on R16 software. Except it's cr@p and doesn't work. Ok, it seems to work when the car is unplugged. But my car...
