Brake 'spongyness' varies in Eco / normal / sport

Thanks. By what insane ridiculous logic does eco-mode, and to a lesser extent normal mode, require spongy brakes with more pedal travel?

Brake 'spongyness' varies in Eco / normal / sport

Thanks, they are adequaite, it's the spongyness... It's being serviced soon, I'll ask them to see what they think. They're picking it up, so it will give a good chance to drive it.

Brake 'spongyness' varies in Eco / normal / sport

Hi, I've suspected this from experience, then saw a FB post about it... My golf and other cars I drive have sensitive brakes, linear, but not needing much force or brake travel. When I drive our golf now, I get to traffic lights or an island and everything jerks forwards as the brakes are so...

    Lane Keep Assist love.....

I wish it could just be turned off with the switch, instead of having to confirm "yes *** I DO want the LKA off". Nothing else needs confirmation, you'd think you were jetisoning the main battery pack or something.

    Full beam

It's supposedly done by the garage that supplies the car. But never is, everyone reports really low pointing lights. Mine were aimed about 20ft in fromt of the car. I incrementally raised the lights one turn each side and went a drive down a nearby dark lane. I then adjusted them while down...

What's the correct method to charge an M4?

I get out, lock the car to shut all the systems down, unlock it and plug the charger in, then lock it again. One or two of the steps might not be necessary, but as it is on Octopus and it starts when I'm asleep between 11-12pm, it always works, so I don't want to try a different way!

    Full beam

They are the same headlight unit, so up / down adjusts the dipped beam cutoff line and the main beam too. It's via the white hex recessed circular plug on top of the headlamp unit, a medium flat head screwdriver fits. Not sure if there is L/R adjustment. Check the electronic adjuster is on 0...

    Reverse Camera SE LR

I've bought this one, the cylindrical camera and the 5" screen. It is very professionally packaged, and unusually the instruction manual is both written in good english, has lots of instructions, and large enough text to read. No wires are needed for the camera, it is rechargeable and...

Lights will not turn off when I lock the car

I have the opposite problem to most people, my lights don't come on early enough, ie as it gets dark they seem to come on later than I expect, and especially in daylight rain. I therefore often override the auto setting and slide the switch left, to "manual headlights on". What is really bad...

    Archived MG4 all weather tyres

How many miles have they done? What is the tread depth remaining?

Video player on MG4 - where to get .mp4 videos from?

Anyway, back to my original question, it doesn't seem possible to get any .mp4 videos to put on the USB stick to play in the car. Not without DVD ripping software and most DVDs have digital security so can't be copied.

Think MG Dealership swapped my Alloy Wheels? Anyone had this experience before?

Same for me, but mine were pressure sensor caps for a TPMS, on a car that hadn't got one. I used to turn them every week so they didn't lock up. Forgot for a month, all were corroded solid, galvanic corrosion between two metals. Stupidly I tried turning one with pliers and ripped the valve...

First service - experience of charges out there

Summit Garage near Dudley, £110 for the first service at 12 months, 9,000 miles. They pick the car up from home and drop it back and will do any software upgrades it requires. Seems ok as it gives another year of AA cover.

How do I disable muting of the radio when reversing?

yes, a daily occurrence I'm sure.

Video player on MG4 - where to get .mp4 videos from?

I have a DVD but I'd need a dvd player on the surface laptop, which it doesn't have, ripping software which I don't have, and many Gb free to store it I think. I guess the MG4 video play facility just never gets used!

Video player on MG4 - where to get .mp4 videos from?

well if anyone has any ideas, please message me directly. I've got subscriptions to apple tv, netflix and amazon, and can't get hold of a single movie to look at in the car.

Video player on MG4 - where to get .mp4 videos from?

As the title, I would like to have a film or two for times when stationary and waiting, by putting them on one of the USB sticks in USB 1 or 2. But where can I get some from?? Amazon Prime and Netflix unsurprisingly don't let you download the films, neither does youtube. Where and how can I...

MG4 Trophy + Ohme Home Pro + Intelligent Octopus

you need one ACTIVE schedule. But you need to amend it (before plugging the car in) to state when you need the car the next day, whether that is 6am or 9am or when exactly. You also need to tell it exactly what % of charge to add - so if it's a LR and at 25% and you want it to be at 80%, you...

    Struggling to charge in France

Undo the 10mm nut on either battery terminal. + Red is probably easier. Ease the clamp off the post and put a piece of cloth or plastic under it otherwise it will drop back onto the terminal. Wait 10 mins & reverse.

    Wading depth

I agree, but surely a drive at 70 mph on a M-way in torrential rain would get just about every nook and cranny soaked through on any car? Slowly going thru a 1ft ford wouldn't be very different?
