I have had similar issues.
They write the bare minimum and expect the guy to sort it but won't let you talk to him. My RadioModuleDisconnected fault has been going for a couple of years. They had it for nearly two weeks while a module was sent to MG for 'repair' but it has happened again...
...my January figure is a bit late only picked the car up from the garage Thursday evening. They had it for almost 2 weeks to paint the holes under the bonnet and send a module to MG for repair to sort out a RadioModuleDisconnected fault.
Anyway here it is and I was quite happy to finish on 3.3.
Ok thanks for the detail. We’re just 6 weeks over the warranty period. Glad you’ve found happiness with a new car…we’re still paying off the MG, so not impressed with paying for duff kit! 😩
...tried to get me to pay for postage and removal/refitting. However I refused. Since then it has worked ok but last few weeks the radiomoduledisconnected error came back.
The car has now gone back to lease company and I have.a Hyundai Kona. It's amazing everything works perfectly on the Kona !
My screen does all sorts of things.
It can go off and come straight back on
It goes off and come back on with 'radio moduledisconnected' or 'radio module initialising'.
And sometimes it comes on but is locked to AM...
It goes in again on Wednesday...
...the forum that there are holes under the bonnet on my SR that are rusty.
I have also reported, at my last service, that above the windscreen there are a few rust spots. The garage have not heard back from MG about that yet, but then it is in for the 5th time for the RadioModuleDisconnected...
I have had an interesting experience.
No problem ever with the radio disconnect problem since I have had the MG5 for over 2 years.
I recently went abroad and noticed my car clock had not updated. In looking I was on the time Autoupdate via GPS setting.
I changed to via DAB but didn't...
Yeah mine has completely packed up. I had the radiomoduledisconnected for about a year on and off. Tried updating dab files that worked for a while then it came back. This time the unit just keeps trying to re-boot every 45 seconds, disconnecting 12v makes no difference. Anyway it's at...
I was told MG are not swapping modules any more, they have probably run out of them. Mine failed again on the way to Scotland so I disconnected the 12V battery for a few minutes.
I had the RadioModuleDisconnected error. I tried the DAB update files, but the error returned. Unit is now at Longbridge for testing as has now failed completely. Apparently there are a huge number of warranty claims to do with the infotainment. My local dealer couldn't give me an appointment...
I have the same issue with a brand new MG ZS. Only after one week it appeared.
During this week I switshed audio between DAB radio, FM radio and Apple CarPlay Music pretty often.
Thought is has been the reason. I'll try the 15sec Home button reset option first ... and hope it works.
Have you disconnected the 12V battery for 10 minutes then reconnected?
You will get a few errors but they disappear after you drive it for a mile or so.
My infotainment has stopped working now 21 plate SR. I've had the radiomoduledisconnected error on and off for about a year. Don't have that fault at the moment but now the screen won't boot up, it just shows mg logo briefly and then continually tries to re-boot with no success. No doubt there...
