brake
A brake is a mechanical device that inhibits motion by absorbing energy from a moving system. It is used for slowing or stopping a moving vehicle, wheel, axle, or to prevent its motion, most often accomplished by means of friction.
Looking to change the rear pads but can’t find a tonne of info on servicing it myself. Anyone able to offer advice?

Hi all
I’m confused about the rear brake discs and how to source them. I’ve read on one hand they’re only available via MG but then I see sellers on eBay selling them (advertised for MG ZS electric) for quite a reasonable price.
Does anybody know if the ones from eBay will do?
Have attached...
Has anyone found a problem with rear break callipers sticking on and pitting on the brake disks.
Only had the car just over a month, 500 miles on the clock.
According to the manual proper shut down procedure for the MG ZS EV is foot on brake, engage Park then switch off and the car will apply the handbrake. Does it cause any problems if you are on a level surface and you shut down by putting your foot on the brake and simply switch off the car...
The uneven wear on my rear discs was getting really bad after 2 winters and 25k miles so I thought I'd try to figure out what was causing it.
Having stripped the brakes down, it was obvious that the sliding part of the caliper wasn't pulling the outer pad evenly against the disc, the inner disc...
Having had my car for a few weeks now, I have got used to using the regen in level 3 and really like it, only using my brakes to actually do the final bit of stopping. Does anyone know if the brake lights come on when using the regen to slow down sharply, as I'm conscious that people behind me...

Hi everyone,
I recently took my car to an independent garage to have my rear brake pads replaced. Unfortunately, when the technician started the job, he realized that the brake pads they had in stock were not the correct ones. He put everything back together, but when he switched the car on...
While driving in Regen 3 mode today l was pipped a couple of times from drivers following me , l presume it’s because my brake lights are not coming on under braking. Does anyone know for certain if they do come on or not please ?
Hi having driven my MG3 Trophy for over 1000 miles now and loving it , l sometimes find cars behind close up when l am slowing due to reg braking.
Does anyone know if the brake lights operate when the car is slowing ?
I have HG HS Exclusive. Driving normal, stopped at the turning and when I tried to drive electronic parking brake (EPB) did not release. I had to turn off the button ((A)).

Hi all, Something I’ve been meaning to ask, when you are using the regenerative braking (tacking your foot of pedal ) do the brake lights come on, otherwise it could be a problem if you have Mr BMW close behind. Cheers Tony
Based on my experiments it seems that braking does not use regen in itself...is that other peoples view?
Different kers setting impacts the regen but for example if on kers 1 and then use the brake it seems to be capped at a lower level, kers 2 a slightly higher level etc..
My previous leaf...
