2nd service average cost?

Booked my 22 ZSEV Mk2 Long Range in for 2nd service end of Feb, £165. Eden, Swindon.
Useful info, local one to me in Oxford wants £270, no chance for a low mileage 2nd service.

Will try Swindon.

Edit: excellent tip, the service as yours was, is priced at £165.

Many thanks

Just got an anniversary letter from the dealership, the ZS EV is now 4years old. I popped into SERE Belfast for a price - £184.00, sounds like a normal inspection service and includes pollen filter... 40k equivalent, seemed reasonable.. But I've no idea what checks are covered.

It calls for the reduction oil to be replaced at four years or 60,000 ( which ever arrives first).
They call it the transmission oil on the sheet.

Got a quote for 4-year service plan and MOT - £22 per month - any comments on prices?

Service Schedule

Service Age Date Mileage Price
ZS Electric 45k/3 year Service 3 26/04/2025 51000 £97.73
ZS Electric 60k/4 year Service 4 26/04/2026 59000 £210.67
ZS Electric 75k/5 year Service 5 26/04/2027 67000 £249.22
ZS Electric 90k/6 year Service 6 25/04/2028 75000 £180.19

and MOT 4 x £54.85

Adding all those figures up and dividing by 48 months works out at £19.94 a month. Although, that doesn't take in to account inflation and possible price rises over the 4 years.

it includes 4 x MOT at £54.85 and it seems to be interest free over 46 months (not 48, sorry)

Monthly Schedule
45 payments of £22.01
And a final payment of £21.96

thinking that prices might be double in 4 years time .... that is for suburban London quote, not sure if it depends on location

@Vince31 many thanks Vince, had my second service at Eden in Swindon, they kept their £165 quote and almost 5 hours of updates, including the Tesla update, V2L etc included. They even rang me to tell me “you know we said about two hours, could you make it at least 6 hours before you come back” it was still on the ramp when I turned up having yet another update.
Now even drives like a different car, steering was light at higher speeds now feels a lot firmer.

your V2L and Tesla chargers wouldn't work before updates? asking because as far as I know I haven't had any updates but it all works on my 22 Mk2 Trophy SR... and some people were saying that for V2L issues it's most likely the hardware that needs changing ...

My V2L worked but I wasn’t able to lock the car without the V2L stopping so if I used it camping the car was left unlocked with the lights on, a bit of a giveaway :)

What cable do you use for the V2l do you have link?

Have a look here and search ZS forum for V2L, lot of different info and some cables work for some people, not for others ...

My car from new mg3 2022 now due 2nd service I'm on a service plan £452 appointment book now service quite £500+ this is a 2year old car from new how on earth can they justify that cost.
I've had many old cars and never paid this for an MOT & service never mind just a service ?

Am I right in thinking, that your current MG3 model is driven purely alone by petrol ⛽️ and therefore not a PHEV / pure EV model then ?.
This quote does appear to be expensive for a service on a two year old fossil car, but this may depend on what parts and labour are involved with this service schedule I guess ?.
Maybe ask for a full break down of the costs , listing parts and labour ?.
As a side note, when PHEV’s age the service costs do ramp up more quickly than that of a fossil or a pure EV.
This is because with a PHEV you are expected to meet the demands of both a fossil driven car AND that of a pure EV.
A bit like serving two masters really.
The car is not a total fossil driven vehicle, or a pure electric driven vehicle either, in fact it’s a combination of both methods of propulsion combined.
They unfortunately both require their own set of individual needs and requirements.
In this respect, pure EV’s are generally much less expensive to service than fossil or PHEV models, for sure.

On the MG service plan for year 2, via Bristol Street Motors Beaconsfield ours equates to £203 based on our monthly payments to planmyservice of £16.97.

Also been quoted £305 for a 2 year old mg4 service by ancaster in Dartford, the heck! And they wonder why I didn't have my year 1 service with them. Mileage is just 13000

should be less than half that ! next time get a quote elsewhere first and then call them and say huh, sorry, someone else quoted half that ...
Look into subscription service deal online - it may work out cheaper and it's then fixed price, you pay by DD monthly + mine supposedly gives £35 MOT in the deal (which I'm sure I would be better off with my local "friendly" garage...)

Just been offered £165 upfront payment now plus 21.82 monthly payment to cover Service for 3 years from next month, So the service Due next month and the next 2 years after totalling 3 years.

Total would be £536.22 over 3 years averaging £178.74.

is this an okay price for me to accept?

mine is about the same, around £20 per month; remember that you get AA cover with MG service which is worth quite a bit in itself ... £165 is for the service due now and then monthly payments add up for the next annual service?

you can get a quote online, just search for MG service and then you can try 2 different garages quote ...

I think I got a good deal with my nearest MG dealer - £7.52 pcm for a low mileage four year service contract. MG AA breakdown cover included.

Only on Friday I was quoted £180 for the low milage 2nd service and £235 for the standard service.
I was told that the difference is IF you opt for replacing the brake fluid or not ?.
The cabin filter is called for replacement at two years regardless.
I seem to remember paying a similar price for the 2nd service on our previous Gen1 ZS EV.
I always opt to change the cabin filter myself, if it can be done easily as it works out significantly cheaper.
