I've been driving my SE LR since august of last year and with the weather getting hotter here in germany I'm noticing my main complaint about the A/C again: It's always too cold. I have to set it to 27°/auto and even then it awlays feels like a freezer inside the car and I find myself constantly adjusting the temperature which kinda defeats the purpose of an automatic A/C.

I've read that it is kinda normal for chinese cars to have an A/C that is one the colder side, but right now I simply can't find a setting that is comfortable. It almosts feels like the A/C knows one cold temperature and is only adjusting the fan speed accordingly.

Anyone else having this issue? Is there a software update, that helps here? I'm still on R21 but the car is scheduled for the first service soon.

This explanation of 'chinese cars' is just bull. It is related to the heatpump, as admitted by the dealer. Other mg's without the heatpump do not have this issue. And in at least two other MG's I can confirm this. Neither does BYD suffer from it.

So I guess if it‘s related to the heatpump there is no fix :/

I would just raise the indicated temperature. I usually set mine at 25. This gives me a good comfort. Oddly, at winter I have to lower it slightly. This tells me that it's a "me" issue and likely a vent setting issue, in my case

Sure, but thats what i did already. The issue is that 27 feels ice cold and 28 is lukewarm with barely any cooling. But maybe it‘s just a me problem, otherwise I guess more people would be complaining.

They told me MG was working on it. But that is a statement without any certaintanty.
Characteristic is also that at any temp set to heat the cabin, once the temperature is reached (usually set +5 deg.) the air coming from the vent system simply turns cold. It is effectively an on - off system, showing it isn't the pump itself but the electronic regulation system. That is hardware you can exchange.

With no pun or ill intent, it could be a "you" issue or a "your car" issue. We are all very different in our perception of comfort (temperature), thus just because I can feel comfortable, does not indicate that something is wrong with you. It could just as likely be that I am wrong feeling comfortable ?
(that was really a "no help" statement ?)

Try to reduce the opening of the vents at 27. Or anything temp that seems suitable. If it does not work, the face bound window vent openings on the side have a strong effect on the cooling experience. Close them.

Probably unrelated pal, but there might be something in here for you to look at?

Different symptoms granted, but just so you don't feel alone with your problem!

It was a sensor causing all my Climate issues.
Extreme Heat or Extreme Cold and nothing in between.

Thread 'Outside temperature reading, gone doolally.' Outside temperature reading, gone doolally.

After moaning about the A/C not being good enough the other day had the same symptoms as the OP . Even turning up the temp had no effect. Solved it by turning off the A/C and using ECO mode to alter the temp before re-engaging the A/C. Not intuitive and a bit of a fiddle, I stopped to do it as it was too distracting whilst driving. Still on a learning curve?

I also fill cold even AC set 24°C. But it too hot for my wife. She demand set it at least 23° when she is in the car... So, I slide shutters aside and hold the wheel from the lower side out of airflow.

I've been fiddling with the A/C settings for some time now but can hardly feel a difference. What does Eco even do? ? Never had this issue with any car i owned.

But thanks for all your replies. I'll see what the dealer has to say about this, when i take the car in for service.

I think you need to sit in the car for twenty minutes and play around with all the settings to get a feel for each. As I said earlier it's not immediately obvious or intuitive that the settings you have chosen will be applied. In the Refit Manual there are shown around half a dozen temperature sensors for the A/C operation any of which could be problematic, or not! It's a bit like being a bailiff, if you don't get an answer from the front door you have to go around the houses and knock on the back door. :cautious:

Yes. But that happens when the A/C on. Not when it's off and that is what is written: "by turning off the A/C and using ECO mode".

My Aircon doesn't get very cold. So, question.... When you "re-engage" the aircon do you keep it on ECO or resume normal settings?
