A Tad Concerned......

Thanks for that Buster 72 - the more I read into the subject it's comments like yours that inspire me to go ahead when the time is right (to end my current lease) and order the MG4 Trophy LR - only problem now, Dynamic Red or Black Pearl lol !!
If that's your choice, have a proper look at the red , it's a tri coat paint and is really nice. I have grey by the way.

Have to say I bought 'Red' and have no regrets, in the flesh it looks great and in sunlight even better.

Doing my research for my next car ( Kia Niro EV or MG4), I have veered from one to other almost daily! Coming down quite firmly towards the MG4 at the moment, but the myriad of complaints on this excellent Forum about oil leaks, software updates, charging issues, even getting locked in are quite concerning to me as a potential user ! However, being a subscriber to the Kia Niro Forum too, I realise there's just as many complaints on there as well - probably there are many fully satisfied drivers of each marque who DON'T need to write in with problems, but am I right to be concerned or just put it down to teething problems ?
I’m suitably impressed. clocked up approx 2k in Trophy.
biggest issues are with the software and touch screen.
definitely a two person car. One to man the steering wheel and another to set up the car. I’ll admit that I haven’t spent significant time sitting in the car and trying to learn voice activation commands, so it could be me!
Air (not even Aircon but just on) and active cruise appear to drain the battery. Noticed this on a long road trip yesterday. return trip was without either and equated to about 25% energy efficiency improvement.
plastics are not great And do mark up quite easily. A bit more polish required :) so no major issue.
the drive is very good. Handles terrible road conditions like a boss. Far better than my back up Cayenne with Air suspension.

Software hack or Capability to setup preferred settings by default would be a real bonus as lane detection is an absolute PITA when living in the country.

All in all. Very happy with the choice (although I kind of wish I had waited for the X Power version :)

10000 miles in on a blue SE long range. Zero issues. Car is efficient and charges much quicker than a Niro EV. 140kw vs about 60-70. We just drove 650 miles to the alps with 2 paid charge stops - we got a bit of a top up for free at our Ibis hotel in Reims as well.

Interested in your thoughts on the ACC draining the battery. Given that the major roads in the Highlands are not long stretches of dual carriageway (and not likely to be soon) just wondered about the nature of the route and traffic density.

Was thinking of heading to Epernay with mine. Where did you charge? Have seen chargers at the Chunnel. Did you use them? How much charge left at Reims?

No issues mate, get one!

SE Long Range 300 miles on clock

We set off near Cambridge, charged at aires de baralle (A26) - ionity. Then the Ibis at Reims Tinqueux gave us a free top up (7kw charger). Last charge at aires de Langres Perrogney - also ionity. Journey finished near Chatel in Haute Savoie. 650 miles. 50ish minutes fast charging in total.

We arrived at Reims with 55% left after charging at Aires de Baralles.

I’m thoroughly enjoying driving my MG4 SE Long Range, having done so for three months. Apart from a couple of minor software glitches (which always correct themselves) such as the Autohold warning indicator coming on after charging, it’s been absolutely fine.
This has just come up for me after 8 months! So this is something that's common then? I've a few nightly things that I was going to make a list of and give them to dealer to see if they've been resolved in latest software. Nothing crazy but just small issues.
