aircon mode for cooling in mg zs ev 2021

hi all,

as summer started i noticed that my aircon does not cool properly unless air recirculation is enabled, in which case no fresh air is supplied. mg say i need to keep using recirculation and add a bit of fresh air from time to time, then go back to air recirculation. they say it is normal for all cars. does this coincide with your experience?

i thought aircon would do it automatically: ensure sufficient fresh air is supplied to meet my breathing requirement, but not too much for the aircon to stop coping with the cooling. i am surprised that this process is left for the user to deal with.

My MG4 does have an auto function that controls fresh/recirculated air.
But I've no idea how well it works, I normally leave it on outside air, but we haven't had any real hot weather yet.
I imagine once we get temperatures in the 40s C it will be recirculating. I'll test how the auto function works then.

from memory, if yours is Mk1 or Mk2 "regular" ZS (not top model) you don't have auto climate control that decides what to do with air intake. check instructions manual.

dealer is right, if it's too hot outside, the car needs to recycle inside air to cool down faster - easier to coll down 21°C then 40°C hot air .... when I had cars with no auto climate, aircon with recycling air and then open and close drivers window every now and then ..
