Just spent an few minutes reading the handbook and trying different ways to activate the beep whilst locked. The one and only way it works is if you sit in the car, lock with key fob and then press the door lock on the drivers door it activates the horn with regular intermittent beep. So at least there is a way of locking yourself in the car and drawing attention if need be.

I have the 5 SR 2021 just tried it inside and outside and second push of the lock button when car locked just repeats the three flashes and locking process.
