I see this week a lot of the car reviewers are releasing their take on the Alpine A290. They have obviously had it drummed into them by Alpine that a fun car is not all about speed (especially as the 0-60 time is 6.4s). So all the reviews are about handling on twisty roads and the fact that a 200 mile range is OK as it has kept the weight of the car down.
Thing is, this does seem to go against the kind of things they were saying about the XPower where it's 0-60 time of under 4s made it not a hot hatch and the fact it had far less range than a Tesla went against it.
EV's have turned the market upside down and not only have the manufacturers not caught on to the brave new World, the reviewers also need to do some catching up (as would an A290 driver chasing an XPower)
