As demonstrated by all the MG4 reviews when it came out.
There is no way that alpine will win in a race with the X Power but if you watch/read the x power reviews the criticisms of the car centred around its handling, ride, steering feel (I was going to say feedback but we know it has that

), and braking. All the things they are saying the Alpine excels at; it depends what you are looking for in a car I suppose.
In a straight line no but the Xpower isnt a handling machine...
Takes me back to a Mini Cooper VS 69 XY GTHO phase 3 Falcon ( for people who never heard of it google it as it was the fastest 4 door production car in the world at the time ).
I remember watching those 2 race; the mini would crush it around corners till it hit the straight; the GTHO would blast back past due to the sheer HP from the 351 cubic inch V8. Next corner the mini would catch it again !!
So on a track it would be fun to see what came out on top the X power or the alpine 290 !!
I do feel the X power has too much power for its actual capabilities !!
That all said and why the X power is such a great car how many times are you really racing people on public roads around the twisty stuff??
VS
destroying them off the lights and having that fantastic smile on your face; I just rolled some try hard snob in a car costing WAY WAY more !!
So does having go kart F1 handling actually mean ANYTHING on public roads !!!
Funny thing happened to me few days ago guy was looking a bit shocked when he tried to take a run at me in his 2000 e55 coupe merc and I left him wondering why and what just happened !!
Once again I took off from the lights up to 80km speed limit and I saw him coming fast by the time he caught me I'd already put the foot down and left him wondering UMMM WHAT lol
This is why I love my X power for them moments !!
I believe they get free food, accommodation, travel to somewhere exotic and all that jazz. Softened up no doubt!
At the very least they would be in a good mood when doing the review.
That said, Jack from Fully Charged and Nicola from Electrifying were openly underwhelmed with the new Capri.
Thats not a capri
This is a capri !!
Make me moderner looking version in a EV of this car and shut up and take my money !!!
I had a 69 V6 capri as my first car and wow what a machine !!
( tell a lie the v6 was my second car my first was a 70 1600 capri with 2lt cortina motor in it that i rebuilt with my dad when i was 15 )
Bought my v6 for $1600aud wholesale cost traded in at a toyota dealership my brother worked at..
from memory in about 1999 !! ( i think )
NOW it would be worth 60k to 80k aud
seriously make modern looking version using the same lines and style in a EV with AWD charge 100k aud and i would buy it no questions !!
come to think of it if money was no object and i could find the right car modifier / builder i would let them chop my Xpower up and add the old Capri shell to it
