Any idea what the Overspeed Threshold setting is for?

Can you set the cruise control at 70 whilst stationary and then take your foot off the brake?
A sort of improvised launch control.

No I just went out and tested this (great idea) but you can’t set it stationary. If you set it at 70 then brake it resets.

That's one I haven't come across. But I could live with it!

I did have the car flashing crossly at me for about 20 miles after passing this one, on a country A road that was National Speed Limit.

That's when I gave up on the whole idea.

There is a beep as well when you reach the speed that you set.

Forgot to say, someone set it to 20, yes 20 miles/hour before I collect our mg4.
It was really annoying before I figure out how to change it.

I've set mine to 90. If for some reason I go over that speed it will tell me lol. Otherwise it is out of the way and un-needed. It would be cleverer if it used the speed from the road signs - however they are usually mis-read or on an adjacent road, so it would be even worse.
