Had mine since April this year and on the whole yes - very happy with it. Breeze to live with and excellent to drive.

However saying that, I've had a couple of rather frustrating issues with it which have taken around 2 months to get sorted (No thanks to my local MG dealer).

So the car is great, the dealer network? Not so much.

Just an update on the loose rear spoiler, the dealer took the car into the workshop and checked the fixtures which were tight. They were concerned and checked others they had in their yard. Two new ones were loose where my 'old' one that was still sitting there was OK and another was OK. They are raising a 'technical issue' with MG. The car is going back in this week to be examined in more detail to support their technical issue report. Still a belting car?
Further update on the loose rear spoiler. 'MidGe' has been checked over and all details taken for James HaughMG to raise a 'technical case', their first one they say.
I had noticed through the cold snap that something was amiss with the Autoglym Lifeshine coating on the roof. Half seemed to be fine, the other not, so they had a look at that and it will get redone when it goes back whenever to fix the spoiler.
Can't fault my dealer for acting promptly, I just have to be patient and wait for MGUK to come up with a solution.
As a matter of interest, has anyone else come across a loose spoiler??

I’ve had mine 10 days, and I absolutely love it. Never had an electric car before, been exclusively diesel for the last 20 years, and it’s a revelation. Only gripe I’ve got is the heaters. Seem to need to be set to 28° to get any heat out of them ??‍♂️ anyone else noticed this? Is it a thing with the mg4 or is there something wrong with my internal sensor?
Yeah +5 or 6 degrees for me

Same here, I've heard they're all the same. Works fine but we just need to get used to the silly numbers ?
And silly mi/kWh on short journeys with the higher heater settings.

Mod: Derail moved here from the thread about roof racks.

So looks like I will need to contact my insurance company and see what they say I guess. Within their rights to say NO as MG UK cant be bothered to get approval. Just got to love being an MG owner....
Or not, fortunately we are an MG user and have no money tied up in it at all. I pretty much don't drive it if I can avoid it.

Lol, I actually think its a great car to drive, I just think MG are useless.
I've said in several threads it's a good car to drive, I just find the software and systems really poor and the material quality lacking.
I have 3 EVs in my household so really easy to make direct comparisons.

Can't argue with any of that. What are your other EVs? I'm thinking of changing. :) Wife has a SEAT Mii electric and that's great in its simplicity.

I have a Cupra Born and an older relative has a Renault Megane on motability

I've been taking a serious look at the Megane. Google software, LKA you can turn off with a button, buttons for all the AC, heated seats etc. Covers off a lot of the MG issues (and you can get a roof rack and the boot is bigger...)

If I was to compare the 3 of them I'd say.

Software and controls Renault (as you say Google) and a good mix of physical buttons and touchscreen then the Cupra and a distant last the MG4

Speed and handling Cupra, MG4 then Renault (fwd so can get a bit scrabbly if you floor it)

Seats/space Cupra, Renault (bit tight in the back bit good quality) MG4

Materials Renault, Cupra, MG 4

OTA updates Renault, Cupra (both can update all aspects OTA, Renault is Google though so just like your phone updating) MG4

AC charging Renault 22kW AC, Cupra 11kW, MG4 now 7kW.

Honest opinion of 3 EVs I have daily access to.

Don't forget Price, MG4 pretty unbeatable there at the moment!

I picked up my Born less than a year old, 900 miles £13.5k off list, it's a buyers market.

Also I was happy to pay a little bit more for a lot less hassle and a lot more quality.

I was talking about new prices, but even when I search Autotrader for nearly new, behind the cheap vauxhalls are an awful lot of MGs...
You can pick up a 24 plate V2 Born which has loads of kit, 21 miles only for £26.5k.
As I said I'd rather pay a bit more for a lot more quality and less hassle. Even the V1 which has a load of standard kit is under £25k

24 plate MGEVs start at £17.5k, so really they are still way cheaper, which is all I am saying.

I totally agree and appreciate what your saying but as I said having 3 EVs sitting in my drive all of a pretty similar category of car I am more than happy to pay that little bit more for the better quality and less hassle.
It's all about what people want and are happy to pay to be fair
