Artificial noise; is this a thing?

Heh. The 'rot' set in when that American woman sued MacDonalds (think it was them) for not telling her that a hot coffee was hot. Then everyone panicked and started putting the most ridiculous warnings on things. I love the warning on a pack of peanuts telling you that it might contain nuts.
The McDonald’s case is an interesting one - they served the coffee extremely hot (90 degrees), much hotter than you would make yourself, and of course in an insulated cup. The poor woman was in hospital for eight days because she required multiple skin grafts.

I’m always concerned about these shops that proclaim they’re “family butchers”

Ouch! Sounds nasty. Though that is actually the correct temperature for fresh coffee. Only instant stuff can be made at a lower temperature. Unless cold milk or cold water (!) is added to it, it'll be hot. Presumably that's why modern 'take-away' coffee tastes like something a dog would turn it's nose up at...

Why is it only nasty, dangerous stuff and not the goodies like chocolate, cake and ice cream that tell you to “KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN “

Yes. If you add boiling water to instant coffee it scolds it and ruins the taste. Put the milk, or cold water if you're having it black, in the mug first with the instant coffee before adding water.

Money. There's a lot of it to be made by getting people addicted to sugar early on in their lives.
Sugar is the scourge of modern society. If it was discovered now it'd be banned instantly.

He he - I agree - but I was thinking about keeping away from from children if I had the goods ??

That's still about 1000 degrees cooler than their apple pies! ?

It seems that in the US you can legislate Stupid. Back in the 80s Cessna stopped manufacturing aircraft for a few years because someone bought one and crashed it. They then sued Cessna successfully for selling them an aeroplane that could be crashed.

It took a new federal law to resolve their stupid laws and now when you buy a new one there is a huge premium the new owner has to pay to insure the company against stupid people. This insurance stays with the aircraft when it is transferred to new owners.

How stupid is that?

I find the MG4's sound quite subtle and don't mind it at all. There is a Renault Zoe near us and that has a very distinctive hum I always recognise.

Add instant coffee and required sugar to 1/3 cup of milk. Heat the cup in the microwave for 50-60 seconds (depending on power rating). Add just off the boil water and stir .... yum. :)

Nope not for me - I’ll just have the OTBH2O straight in the cafetière on ground coffee- hold the milk and sugar. Absolutely fab

Yeah, I don't really like instant coffee that much. I grind a few beans in the morning, stick them in a cheap and cheerful French Press thingy and pour 90°C water on them. No milk or sugar - interestingly when I stopped eating sugar laden 'food' my tastes changed and I can't tolerate the stuff now.

OMG came down to Galashiels for a run and a coffee today and came in to Tesco for some shopping. I went to the loo and what the heck ??? The lights in the loo are the weirdest ethereal BLUE ??? my eyes are going to take ages to recover- this is peculiar- never been abducted by a bog before ?
However, to waste time I’m having lunch - a rather fine Vegan Breakfast and an Americano coffee ?
I plugged the five in this morning for a wee top up and before I knew it it was at 100% with a promise of 308 miles.
I knew that was a bit of a fib but it’s sitting in the undershop carpark (?) showing around 230 miles after the 47 mile journey so there’s tons left.
Heavy flooding on the roads down and quite a fog too.
My eyes are returning to normal now - that was strange ?

The blue lighting is to stop drug addicts "shooting up" in there, as it makes it impossible to find a vein.

I've heard it and till now thought it was the electric motor. Going forward it is much quieter than reversing and once above a certain speed tyre noise is all that can be heard. Obviously the sound is louder when outside the car.
