Once it reaches 100%, it then starts to alter the voltages on the individual cells until they all have the same voltage. It's quite a complex procedure which is controlled by the BMS (Battery Management System).My car is a gen1 and the chsrger was ready to go. In fact on connecting it did appear to charge for a very short time (say 10 seconds) before displaying "connected but not charging". But my question is, does the balancing protocol only start after a period of proper charging?
