Hi,my first post, what is the best setting for the battery heater always on or off ? also if left always on does it effect efficiency?

The battery heater is primarily for heating the batteries to prepare them for charging, when the outside temperature is low.

I dont think there is any benefits to running the heater any other time, except for that.

The heater will definitively reduce the range by a bit, so should only be used to heat the battery when it's cold and you need to charge.

The reason for this, is that a cold battery is not going to accept as fast of a charge as a warm battery does. So you might sacrifice 3 miles or range, but gain 20 minutes less charge time, in case you stop at a fast charger and want to charge the battery as fast as possible to get going.

Assuming you allowed 30 minutes for heating then be aware that you could be chomping through about 4 kWh of battery. Miles did a charge test here that you may find of interest.
