My idea was that is was able to be seen through the window so you wouldn't need to turn it on. This has the advantage staying on the right side of the law and the BMW you are out performing might be an unmarked police car which could be embarrassing all round ?
I doubt the police are using many BMW's now, they kept on catching fire with some tragic results.

Basically the same idea as yours, but if it's anything like the one my friend has "Yellow" lights (he works for the council) they would see the leds even if they are not on. Especially at night.
Sounds like the average driving standards in Milton Keynes. Today I had to slam the brakes and stop the car in the middle of a roundabout because this **** decided that they had right of way when I was already half way across. Probably the closest I've ever been to hitting someone.

I often find myself driving around MK at night. It's frightening how many times I've seen a roundabout half closed with police cars all over the place because some nut has lost control on the approach to the roundabout and launched themselves across the centre of the thing.

Its them. Get youself front & rear Nextbase Cameras. You can send 4k footage to the police (or anywhere else). Avoid their new one though (looks like a city centre camera) because it requires monthly subscription. If you go direct to Nextbase uk website they sell opened/returns which are fully tested updated & repackaged, much cheaper than argos etc.
Came up to one of those on A33 South of Reading. One moment it was stationary at the lights, the next it was heading for the horizon. I was on my motorbike at the time, and still couldn't catch him/her. Not much chance in the Xpower then...
