Broken down - any ideas

So amazingly the failed braking module is in stock with MG UK so fix estimated to be ~10 days so we'll let them try. In the interim have demanded a like-for-like courtesy car as the MG3 is diabolical so waiting to hear on that.
If it is in stock, why must you wait 10 days? That should be 2 days max.
If this does fully fix it, at least the master technician (really helpful bloke to be fair) has confirmed that he has checked & put every module update available on the car and put R59 on it so might work as well as any MG4 can be expected to (or introduced a whole new raft of different bugs lol).
Yes, I have a master tech like this, who know how to get the latest, that's good as it does seem to fix a lot of stuff (albeit not everything as you note).

So the saga goes on - getting well and truly sick of it now.

Integrated brake module come in but apparently when they went to fit it yesterday, they found they needed an extra part that had to be ordered and despite it being in stock in the UK, would take 10 days to source! I was originally told the car would be ready this Friday for collection so had already booked the morning off work (this was the 5th time I've had to do this since we purchased the car in March). Now not needed.

Hit the roof with the dealer - how the hell can it take 8 days to ship a part from Longbridge to Poole in this day and age? Feel I'm being lied too.

Looking increasingly likely we'll have to go down the rejection route. Love the car but the quality control, MG UK and the dealers (who in fairness are hobbled by quality of the product and the poor support of MG UK) means I really couldn't recommend anyone I know to buy an MG.

So to round this one out - after I kicked off, amazingly the part they were waiting for arrived the next day and was fitted Friday afternoon.

Picked the car up last Saturday morning and it finally seems to be all working great. All modules updated and R59 installed. Already up to 800 miles (had 330 on it when we collected on Saturday). Even the vibrations aren't as bad as I remember.

Back in love with it (assuming it carries on working for a bit longer at least  )

Quick question - car doesn't seem to have been supplied with a granny charger (no big problem as have a wall box at home). Did the granny charger come as standard with the car? Dealer haven't responded when I asked for one to be supplied. TIA

Pretty sure a granny is the minimum from the factory m8.

Glad to hear your vibes are less.
Have you got them at 40 Psi all round?

I really can't stress the change in my car once I had set them to that pressure.

Oh and don't rely upon the in car info for pressure.
Mine reads 3.0 Bar which is approximately 43 Psi

My trusted, to be believed, Tyre Pressure Gauge reads 40 Psi dead, (Cold)

Ours came with a granny but not a Type 2. Perhaps you get one or the other?

I negotiated to get both cables but they wouldn't budge on the price of the car so increased the value of the part exchange car to cover the cost of the cable (which as an MG one was many times more expensive than if you just bought one off ebay or wherever).

Car came with a type 2 cable but already had one of those from our Tesla so assumed the granny would be standard equipment.

Michelins at 40psi all round too.

AFAIK

Private Buyer - Granny Cable as standard from new.
Affinity Scheme Buyer - Granny Cable and Type 2
Lease Buyer - ?? ..... not sure ! but heard you may get a Type 2 ??

In my case with a private lease, through Lex, it was both cables.

Dealer has come back and said that MG's policy from Nov 23 onwards was just a type 2 cable supplied now as standard with all cars (private or leased) unless negotiated prior to sale / supply. That's the line the dealer is sticking to anyway.

I think in the 4 years with the Tesla, I only used the granny charger twice but it is one of those things that can be invaluable when needed.

Mine was supplied with both, but I think that was because there was a problem with the delivery, so they supplied both as an apology. I have been using the Granny at home and the other one while on the road.

You need to get a new dealer! Mine advised when I picked mine up (3 weeks ago) that they're now supplied with both...used to just be the granny.
Wish I had a viable choice - this dealer is my nearest and that's a 2 hour round trip on a good day - the next nearest would entail a 4+ hour round trip. Give how prone these cars are to needing warranty work, I just can't afford that potential amount of time off work when the next issue arises.

This outfit has got a excellent track record for getting cars rejected m8.
