I mainly listen to podcasts on my phone and hence through the speakers using BT Music. The BT music screen has two on screen ways to move your podcast along. It has the NEXT and PREVIOUS toggles (all works well). It also has a progress bar that shows how long through you are, in the particular podcast/music.

I am assuming that you can drag the point along to move to any part of the music/podcast you want to listen to. In fact if you tap the screen the little dot at the end of the line changes colour to a deeper blue. However however I drag it, it does not move forward.

My question:
1) should we be able to move forward in the track?
2) If so, can you?

I've not tried it for podcasts myself, I'm sure someone in the know properly will be along shortly, but...

If you are streaming the podcasts (i.e. from your phones data connection and then via Bluetooth music), it will often not be able to skip within a track. I think it's device dependent, but assuming your phone is actually controlling the podcast streaming via another app, often internet streams don't play ball nicely. The other option would be to use CarPlay or Android auto and use a dedicated podcast app on this.

I believe whether you are connected to Android Auto or Not , your music/podcast on the phone is played over BT. For example even if I am connected with Android Auto (ie Cable) sometimes the BT fails to connect and when that happens I cannot use the phone. It keeps saying connect to BT. So I guess it boils down to your original assumption about the app playing well with Android Auto. I do not Stream. I use AntennaPod (open software) podcast player to download the episode to my phone. The I can play it anywhere including inside MG4. When I use the NEXT, screen button, it successfully jumps to the next track. I guess moving along the same track might be different. So the question is , others, who plat BT music with a different app can you use the track position to move it along?

You're right that it uses Bluetooth on Android Auto too, but if you used an app that is compatible with Android Auto to play it you 'might'? get the ability to skip within a track through that app?

I'm not 100% sure, but it might be worth a try.
