Collected the car on Wednesday...everything fine, well please etc. Yesterday and today had sessions of loud chirping for about one and half minutes. Twenty minutes later, same again. Has anyone found a cure for this?

It's not the same as this one is it @Aitch1

It might be the speed camera alerts. This can be switched off in the settings of the Sat Nav.

It means you are approaching a speed camera. You can turn it down or off in the Sat Nav settings.

Hi Clive. Just had another look at the Chatter Guys video. I'll try their remedy next time I'm in the car, I think I was entering a built up/school area/shopping area when the chirping started, so could be the cause. I'll update when I've tried it.
Cheers

Just to update my last. Shut down all audible sound warnings, but the screeching bird set off again. the only difference this time was I had the satnav on and it indicated a 30mph camera warning set on top of a set of lights and asked me if I wanted to accept.
Not knowing what to do I left it on the screen. I intend to try this location again and see what happens.

As an update to the chirping post, the dreaded chirp is back again. I've not yet checked the satnav settings, assuming that they haven't changed as I'm the only driver. This is the second time in the past few days, and, as I've been using the satnav for the first time in weeks, I'm wondering if the default settings have reasserted themselves. I'll have another dabble tomorrow and post what I find.

I recommend lowering the sound volume, but keeping this warning, even if annoying.
The birds have made me notice several speed cameras (with high cameras) that I was not previously aware of on normal roads.
While on the highway it does not indicate high equipment (speed control, even with average).

Thanks gian. Although I do have the overall sound at a low volume, this particular chirp overides all other sounds. I'm not sure it's a camera warning because I pass quite a few in my area. I wonder do all cameras give the same warning sound, or is there a certain type that causes a different alarm?

So far I have only heard the canary.
I have noticed that some speed cameras are out of order, they are not reported.
It also warns of traffic lights with cameras.

Were you near a bus lane? Mine was chirping alongside a bus lane, no buses were using it, I can't find a setting for it in the MG pilot or the satnav settings. No mention of it in the manual either.

Morning Keith. Not sure about the bus lane, I'll try to take note of my surroundings if, (when), it happens again. I did find a setting for this when it first happened, but like a lot of settings, it's got lost in the mist of time.

Keith, Ann and any others who have contributed to this post..Thank you all. The chirp is definitely a speed camera warning and can be turned off in the satnav settings. The annoying thing about this is that I've disabled this warning many weeks ago. Somehow it's got the cheek to reassert itself and switch back on. Seriously, it's worrying that these 'supposedly optional' safety options have a life of their own.

The same goes for me.

This confirms that the SATNAV may have been updated automatically by OTA, perhaps as I mentioned here:

I'll check the SATNAV settings to see if it has been reactivated by default.
