So I have a wallbox plus. I schedule charge between 12.30am - 4.30am. So I never change the schedule, I just plug it in and it charges overnight on my cheap rate. A couple of times now it's only charged say 5kw when it should have done about 25kw as it was about 50% charged.

Not a problem now but would be if i went on a long journey.

Anyone else had issues with charge stopping when not full?

had a problem with my project ev charger stopping or not starting but that was just me getting used to the app never had the car stop a charge

It happened again, exactly 5.95kw both nights. Updated the wallbox software and re added the schedule to see if it resolves it

I charge from a zappi on a timer. It worked fine for the first 90 days or so then started missing the second night charge. I have economy 10 so have multiple times with the cheap rate.

It started missing occasionally and then got worse and worse to the point of even plugging it in would not charge if I unlocked and relocked the car.

i took it to the dealer and they said there was a new firmware which they installed ( early may 21). It has worked fine since. It still begs the question of what happened between working and not working.

Well Wallbox had a look at the logs, I did everything they asked like factory reset, updates and all that, they have sent a new box to the firm that installed it and its being replaced this week.

They said they've never seen this before so it's a strange one, I guess just a faulty physical box.

Strange how it was fine and now only goes up to 1.45kw charge.

Did you ever get this resolved? I'm looking for a suitable charger and this is on my shortlist.

They replaced it and works fine now. They and the company that fit it said they hadn't seen the issue before and they sent it back to them to try and fine a route cause. Since the new one was fitted its been fine.

Its cheap (£499 fitted with grant), does scheduled charging, small and has an app. My only annoyance is the LED lights are on all of the time. For me its not an issue as no one can see it but if you have neighbors all around you or you don't want to draw attention to your house or charger, id suggest getting one with no lights on.

Thank you for confirming that, much appreciated. And thankfully the LED lights are not pointing at anyone!

So now it a toss up between the Wallbox and Ohme. I don't really care about looks or features providing it has reliable scheduled charging.

I've had a couple of issues with scheduled charging.

First problem I didn't know. You need to set a scheduled charge... then plug it in. Don't plug in and then set the schedule up. Once it's set that's that. I have mine set between 12.31 and 4.29 to make use of octopus cheap tarrif. So I just plug it in and don't look at the app anymore.

Second issue was it didn't charge once. I opened the app and it wouldn't connect to the box. I switched it off at the wall and back on, this seems to fix it and following night it charged fine.

I guess the LED's have their uses. If you plug in and it pulsate gently you know its setup for its next scheduled charge. So I guess that's something I should take note of. If you plug in and it doesn't gently pulsate green or blue I think it is... you know there's a problem.

That's good to know, thank you! There appears to be quite a few issues with the Ohme compared to Wallbox, although most issues get resolved. Looking like it will be the Wallbox. Can I ask did you get it direct from Wallbox or somewhere else?

Are you generally happy with your Zappi?... I'm having one fitted later this month... Knowing my luck, I've probably picked the duff charger to go with the duff car! :) (Only kidding, just a bit cheesed off right now...)

Yep. It’s working great. I have a combination of solar charging and cheap rate electricity at night. I’ve also got some code to just enter the battery % and it will set up the required number of hours charging in the cheap times to hit 80%. That’s through the zappi api. It’s a very flexible charger.
Even though we have 6.4kw of solar I find with us being away with the car working or dropping kids at the weekend the opportunities for solar charging are not as great as might be imagined.
