Hi all,

For the last month or so the car has stopped charging at 97% when we set it up to charge for a long trip mode and reach 100%.

Is there something that we need to bring up with the garage? This has happened for both slow chargers and the fast charger. See the email from the Phone app. I don’t get any other warnings or messages. It just stops at 97%.

Thanks

Can you check whether the bar in the car is set at 100% and not at 97%?

instruction manual mentions this, so something to also think about ...:

Note: Considering the safety and service life of the
high voltage battery, when using a rapid charging
station to charge the vehicle the battery will not
become fully charged, and therefore the instrument
pack may display less than 100% power. If you have a
long journey planned, it is recommended that you use
a slow charging point to charge the vehicle so as not
to affect your journey (Battery Pack Type 1).

I wonder if the battery is not balanced, so the BMS stops the charge when one or a few cells are full, but the rest of the cells are at about 97%. Do you regularly (once per month or two) charge on AC to 100%, leaving the "charger" on till the charge is complete (not stopping the instant it reaches 100%)?

It sounds like you have to regularly use rapid chargers. Those likely don't allow the battery to balance.

But if you have been regularly balancing, there might be an issue with your battery. Getting the service people to take this seriously could be difficult. I suspect that most service centres will shy away from battery issues, as they tend to be expensive, and you sometimes need special protective gear.
