I have just received my 2024 mg zs ev long range it will only charge to 95% and mileage range shows 214 miles is this normal.for long range

No. Should be able to charge to 100%. Alternitavely you can set the limit to 90%, 80% etc, but not 95%.

Range is showing a(y)s little low, but that guesstimate figure should improve (or otherwise) in time, depending on your driving style. The battery for longer life should only be charged to 80%, unless needed for a longer journey.

Enjoy your new ZS

Hi and welcome to the forum,
What are you using to charge your car?
How many miles has it done?
Try resetting the trip counters.

I went to a Tesla fast charge point it was still charging but would not go above the 95% mark I had set the slide to 100%
ah, it may be that Tesla charger decided you had enough (sounds like a joke but it's not) - see what happens when you charge at home (assuming you have a charger?)

also, depending which driving mode you use, it shows slightly more range for ECO, slightly less for NORMAL...

My standard range with 100% usually shows about 210 miles range (from memory)

Thank you I had read long range mileage goes up to 374 so was worried they had sent the wrong model ...since then have read its dependent on so many things ?

The SR will rarely predict anything above 200 miles in normal mode, in my experience, especially out of summer.

374 for the LR I would say is extremely optimistic though

Mind you, people here post in miles and kilometres so likely that you read 374 km ..?, around 230 miles ... Long Range in ideal world would go up to 270 miles or so

Mine is an exception, it seems ?
This was in ideal world, in summer... Let's see what happens in winter ?

So far my SR shows roughly double the range for the charge - so 50% charge displays as about 100 miles range

If you reset both trips back to zero, before starting to charge, then go into the charging screen.
Set the slide bar to 80% level and then it should display a PREDICTED range when the charge is complete.
This figure can and will fluctuate depending on ambient temperature.
It will be higher in the summer and lower in the winter.
Because you have removed all of the historical efficiency data stored in the car, it then it loosely predicts the range generally based on traction battery SOH.
When the car was new, then when setting the charging level to 80% ( in warmer weather conditions ) you should return a predicted range of about 210 - 212 miles.
Remember that when you boot up the car after the charge, ensure that everything is turned OFF ( especially the HVAC system ) and the car is n the default mode of normal and Regen level 3.
As the car ages and more charging cycles have been clocked up + the mileage has increased, the predicted range will reduce for sure.
This is due to a small amount of battery degradation and is pretty much unavoidable.
On the long range model, if your predicted mileage at 80% SOC is less than 200 miles when complete and you have only covered approx average milage, then your pack may require balancing from an AC outlet.

.
At 100% the most mine has shown before starting is 305 miles.
At 80% it shows 280 miles

Both in ECO mode.

I don't bother with Eco mode now, I just keep it in Normal.

I only charge to 100% the night before starting a long journey. I have done it only 3 times since I got the car in the summer.

Agreed with most comments, my MK1 best was 185 miles, summer. My Trophy LR is 295miles in the summer. My feeling is as per most users that 80/85% max charge is best and only 100% the night before an early start long trip. The gom is definitely an appropriate indicator at best.
