Charging my MG4 at Tesla Superchargers in Exeter

The problem with the latest (UK) regs is that the chargers also need a screen as well as contactless payment ... I can see that being the sticking point. (Using the app on your phone as a screen substitute doesn't cut it unfortunately).
Maybe they can retrofit something with screen and contactless payment?

I see from ZapMap that the open-to-all chargers at the Exeter Tesco Service Centre (EX2 8FN) support contactless payment. Do I also need an app to activate it? I would like just to roll up and use my credit card at the charger. I don't have a smartphone which is why I don't have the app.

Same question for the superchargers at Darts Farm (EX3 0QH) - but ZapMap is not clear whether these take contactless payment.

TIA
I used Darts Farm in early October and I needed to use the Tesla app... Tesla Supercharger Issue MG5 LR

Can you just use a Debit Card as well?
No the Tesla system was originally set up for Teslas alone. It opens the charging port for the car and knows the car and who to charge, the driver only has to plug the car in, everything else is handled by Tesla. The concept of needing to identify yourself and pay is alien to their system. This is very attractive to anyone who has ever been befuddled by numerous apps, cable positions, cards, broken chargers and extortionate prices which is why I am likely to go Tesla in the future. They circumvent the lack of interface by having other vehicles use the App but this is only possible at present with their newer chargers.

How much does Tesla authorise on your card if you use that payment method?

I am just thinking that people's bank limits still apply, will be different with debit vs credit cards.

When I pay by contactless I never use my card, I always use my phone - I don't carry a wallet any more most of the time.

The additional security on the phone means I never have to worry about bank security check blocks / limits by paying this way.

Since I always use my phone anyway, I have always used the Tesla app at Tesla chargers, whether they have contactless payment or not.

Opened to all on those dates? (I suspect it's that date which is important, rather than when the Tesla site opened). I don't know the answer - I'm just positing a theory. :)

And are they V2/V3 sites? If they're V4 sites then they're already compliant.

Have used the superchargers in Glasgow at their service centre, the Perth one (only managed it once and then somehow couldn't get close enough to get the charger to reach the car and the Dundee ones and other than the Perth issue, they've been so easy to use. Their prices are very reasonable considering the price of pretty much everyone else for a slower charging speed.

Baffles me that there are slow chargers in excess of 40p/kWh and rapid chargers well over 65p
