Charging / Tracking History?

Hi,
I have been issued a parking charge for parking over the 'free permitted time' in a car park...2 hours in total. The whole 2 hours I was there, I had my car on charge. Does anyone know if there ss there a way for me to see my charging history? Either via the app or online. The date was 26/01/2025 (between 11am and 1pm). I have tried looking in other online forums for help with no luck.

Most charge point operators give you an invoice/receipt and often the times are on there. The time you were charging is not however proof of the time you entered and left the car park.

Just because you are charging does not mean that you are exempt from parking charges.

Do you think you entered the carpark and excited before the two hours were up.
Or are you saying you were charging so not parked?

Thanks TG. The AMPR camera is proof of when I arrived and left, no receipt as it was a tap of the card to start/stop. That's why I am trying to find out if anywhere in the MG app or online MG account will have a history of all my charging for the car.

There is nowhere in the car or on the MG app/account that shows any times of charging.

Unfortunatley it's something to watch out for whenever charging in car parks these days.

I've got into the habit of reading all the signs, as sometimes you need to also enter your reg somewhere (like at Newcastle Airport MFG chargers) or in pub car parks.

Using an app usually provides a receipt and timestamp and keeping a dashcam rolling can also help with evidence of your charge for the whole period.

Please be aware that (unless it's a council run car park - which I doubt as you mention ANPR and councils can't use that for parking enforcement) you have not received a fine; you've received an invoice for an alleged breach of contract terms. What exactly is the alleged breach - parking longer than the permitted free period, and not paying for any extended period? Regarding period ... can you track your location history from your phone, and so estimate when you arrived and when you left the car park? (ANPR only records time on site - it doesn't record time parked).

(If you'd been in Scotland I'd have recommended just ignoring it, but you can't do that in England/Wales due to Schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012).

I got caught out in an Aldi; however, I appealed to their better nature & they waived the penalty. I did have to provide proof of charging though & fortunately, I'd charged via an app

I have seen car parks where parking is free if your charging but also car parks that you have to pay for parking as well as charging. You would of thought the parking charges would included with the charging but alas these people want as much cash as they can from you.
It takes me several minutes to read all the hundreds of paragraphs on the several signs just to work out what it all says.

Just because you were charging doesn't necessarily mean the time limits don't apply to you.

IME the time limits very much do unless there's a mechanism to register your number plate.
