MG5 Exclusive LR
I am looking at second hand MG5 61.1kWh Exclusive Long Range options.

Is there a way to see battery state of health with a consumer OBD connection and iPhone app?

Could any one point me to the Checklist(s) mentioned elsewhere in the forums?

Any pointers for used purchases likely to be 4+ years and 30k miles ish.

many thanks in advance.

Toby

I use Torque lite or Car Scanner on my PFL 5 to Check to SOH, currently at 95% after 66,000 miles.
I am not sure you will find many LR's over 4 years old yet.

Thanks for the info, and tolerating my newbie questions. Do you know what a typical charge is for the updates?
Tricky question to answer. If you are having the car serviced at the same time then they can be quite generous about the updates. If they are recall updates they should do them for free. It would be useful to find out if the car already has the EVCC update to charge at Tesla chargers but you would need to talk to the previous owner to find that out.

Depends on the hourly rate. Updates can take a long time because data exchange with the servers in China is notoriously slow and unreliable.
Think in terms of an hour as a minimum albeit the technician (for most of the time at least) won't actually be doing anything!

I have yesterday handed back my three year old MG5 with 40,000 miles and no battery degredation. Plenty of 100,000 mile examples used as taxis. Battery issues are simply scare mungering based on early EVs before cooling and battery management. My car was charged to 100% almost every day.

Good post. Good to hear that. 🙂👍
Did you get another MG5?
