Cleaning Matte Green Paint.

Wet Coat you say?

"Hydrophobic and self-cleaning effect that is delivered immediately, together with an intense gloss and shine to painted surfaces"

Nope.

I'd be using something like Gyeon Wet Coat and some sort of blower vac on matte paint to try and minimise the need to touch it.

There is this ceramic stuff but you're still going to have to wash the car regularly regardless.

There isn't a coating on earth that stops the need for you to actually contact the car, possibly, maybe, in a hot and dusty country, but not in the UK afaic, and the price for 50ml.....

50ml!!!

That will be a double Nope from me. 🤣

You might be right, although I've used it on grey plastic trim, for instance, and it doesn't really add any gloss or shine - it just makes it hydrophobic for several weeks. TBH, I think it really just seals in existing shine/gloss on the paint rather than enhances it.
Gyeon Q²M WetCoat

The EVO line is more of a "ceramic" type coating - lasts far longer and costs far more, as you observed.

A year old now and the roof needed a polish to get off some stubborn marks.

Back to as new.

A tiny hack today......

After the initial snow foam and rinse, I put a cap of Turtle Wax car wash in the snow foam gun (other brands are available) and topped it up with water.

Then sprayed the car in a lovely foam.

I then proceeded to use the wash mitt straight away.

It just meant that I didnt have to keep loading my wash mitt with soapy water.

It also saved me having to fill up a bucket with warm water.

As I say, a tiny hack. 👍

No I didn't take a piccie.

Slack I know. 🤣

I've done something similar but used Autoglym's Polar Wash instead of Turtle Wax. The only trouble I found was that I missed a couple of spots as there was that much foam it was difficult to see where I had used the wash mitt. Perhaps I need to reduce the concentration 🤔

So you have some very light scratches on your Matte painted car?

Mine were picked up from brambles on the nearside of the road, most likely when moving over in a tight country lane.

I had a quick go at a couple on my bumper earlier and was very pleased with the results.

I used a Matte Specific detailing spray from Muc Off, that I had for my Matte finish motorcycle helmet.

Before.

After.

This was with a microfibre cloth and a bit of elbow grease.

A definite improvement.

Another go will see them gone.

Would be quicker with a polisher but BEWARE.
I imagine the paint is perilously thin on the bumper.

Excellent job! 🙂👍

I remember the car sales person told me there was some plastic protection on the front, not sure if it goes on the side as well.

Via my other half getting friendly with a bollard, I can confirm it's definitely not the thickest paint in the world.
