Considering swapping MG4 for an MGS5 - Test Drive Thoughts.

The monthly payment is higher though. I wonder what they are doing to get it lower.

I wonder if it will be better to do this or wait for pre-reg. Take the 0% and stick the money in an ISA or shares, or wait for a few k discount up front.

Does it say anywhere what you get with the car? A charging cable, a granny charger, mats, how many years of map updates and app support etc?

I'm thinking that because this car is sold in China as well the accessories will be cheap and readily available on AliExpress.
Just remember regarding Aliexpress accessories, it's almost exclusively LHD stuff on there, so whereas things like mudflaps will be fine, floor mats and other RHD specific things wont be available.

There are several eligibility options detailed on MG's website. That seems to be the easiest to comply with.

Thanks, it just seems very strange that you pay them £50, then you seem to have to pay MG a £150 fee as well, and then you get thousands off the price of the car.

Well, yeah, I just get nervous with the "Money Saving Expert" type "one weird trick" things that promise to save you thousands. I also don't like being committed, even a little bit, up front. I have to talk myself into it and then just do it before I change my mind!

I was thinking I could order one before my fossil's MOT is due, but if it takes 3 months then that's out and I'll be tempted to wait another year if it doesn't need expensive repairs.

Is this sort of thing common for other manufacturers?

Yes. Most have similar schemes.

I always think that if MG dealers are happy to sell cars at affinity pricing, they'll also sell them for that price to anyone who can haggle properly as well, at least at ends of months where they need to make up sales targets and such. Just offer to pay the affinity price as a serious buyer and if they don't agree, you walk out. It won't be very long or take many dealer visits before they come chasing after you with an offer that matches it somehow.

How am I only hearing about this now?!
They're usually limited to certain groups, like MG Affinity is.
Groups like first responders, armed forces personnel, employees and their immediate family, etc.
It varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Affinity is (I think) rare in that you can qualify by simply joining the owner's club.

I asked about it and although you get a cash discount, if you want PCP the rate is 6.9%! The 0% offer is not available with Affinity, at least according to the dealer I spoke to.
