I can't seem to get the heating right. I presumed full auto would be the norm, but it's far too blowy and doesn't heat the interior, the fast fan just creates cold air So I switched off auto and put the fan on number 1 the lowest at 23c and it seemed ok, tried 24c but it got very hot, whereas 22c was cold, it needs to be 23.5c but that's not an option. However, it isn't stable, it frequently blows cold fur no reason. I have looked at the air flow settings, which has Low, Medium & High but I have no idea what the settings are supposed to do and any none of them seem to make any changes. Has anyone got any guidance on this?

it happened to me too.
the central vents can be partially closed,
sliding right or left.
Now, in automatic at 23°, I have found the compromise.

On the odd hot day we had this summer, the freezing cold A/C coupled with Auto and 20 or 21 degrees worked well, albeit blasted by the fan on presumably the highest setting, but better to have affective cooling in those conditions.
However in normal and colder weather, 22 or even 23 and the fan on the second speed seems ok.
Also like with the A/C cooling the car, the heater is pretty quick at blowing warm air.
One thing I’ve noticed, as the dashboard gets warm there is an annoying creaking noise coming from somewhere in front of the driver. Probably from expansion of the plastics.
Finally, and I’ve mentioned this before, the operation of the climate control is all but impossible when on the move.
If you are very precise you can alter temp fan speed and auto settings from the home page, but usually you end up missing the icons and going into the main climate page, which is also not that easy to adjust.
This is made all the worse by the system occasionally defaulting to ‘LO’ when you start the car!!!

Blimey… strong words?
And very strongly felt too, they had an opportunity to make a good little car great but I feel they were penny pinching and ruined it.

The boss thinks it's fine, then tells me it did this and that but can't accept the car is badly finished off in a few ways, and is terribly disappointing for our only new car.

I have a feeling that the SE would have been a better choice,= to be honest, at the very least you get a damned ign key.

Have you tried the Climate Controls on one of the Star Buttons @KeithS, it only allows you to change the Fan Speed and Temperature, but it might work better for you.

It has the worst heating in any car we've had ever, if I could return it we would in a heartbeat
I agree it is nearly the worst car I've had for heating, the worst one was a 1964 Ford Popular 3 speed manual and no radio (I don't think they had invented the car radio back then ?)

Does anyone know exactly what the air flow options in the Aircon settings do? Thd options are low, medium and high, I've tried them all but it doesn't seem to change anything

I thought it had a normal key Clive.
Clive is correct, the SE has the push button start. The base model available in Ireland (the Essence) has a key start, no automatic headlights, and no fold-in mirrors. I have the airc con set up on the right star button as it would not work on the left for some reason. Bear in mind that it does not display when Android auto is selected. It still works but you can't see what you are adjusting.
