I have just been to Halfords to purchase a dashcam for my new MGEV only to be told that if they fit it, it would nullify my warranty. Can this be true?
Only if they make an absolute balls up of the install and end up splicing into wiring, and that splicing directly causes issues. A proper dashcam fitter will do a proper job, patching into the fuse box using appropriate fuse adapters, and will probably be a lot tidier than Halfrauds.
I had a dashcam installed by the dealer before delivery so I doubt such a blanket statement holds much water. Sounds like Halfords is just trying to cover their own butts.
This is a continuing story about Halfords, they seem to be very confused about the whole thing.....still.
Have a look at this thread from 3+ years ago, particularly from post #9 onwards
I am thinking of installing a dash cam to my ZS EV 2021 plate. Can anyone advise on best value purchase and any fitting information would also be greatly appreciated.
