Trying to think of ways this could go wrong (call me a pessimist, go on, I dare you).
Mr Dealer is a little unscrupulous and "sells" (transfers) your call to a shady mate and updates the paperwork to make Mr Shady the legal owner. Mr Shady has a spare set of keys for your car (from Mr Dealer) and takes it (it's his car after all - he has the paperwork, so no risk). I imagine Mr Dealer knows where you live. Mr Shady losses (torches) the car and reports the car stolen to claim on his insurance. You end up out of pocket, without a car and having to explain the situation to your insurance company who think you are in on a scam with the dealer. Just saying....
