Confirmed it on my ZS 2nd gen, facelift.
With cruise control stalk clicked towards you (on) it always defaults to radar screen on power on.
With cruise control stalk clicked away, pushed away (off) it defaults to the last screen you used, like trip computer when powering on.
If it's not working that way for you, you may need to disable the lane assist in system vehicle mg pilot menu, like mine.
If you want to use lane assist you can still enable it easily by clicking pulling cruise control stalk towards you, and double pull to enable lane assist. And when finished push stalk away to disable, and reselect your screen.
