I've just acquired and OBD scanner, and playing with it to see what it does. It has %s for SOC and SoC, one the same as the car display, and the other a bit higher. Google doesn't seem to know about this, it only has info on SOC1 and SOC2.

I think I saw it mentioned on one of these forums, but I can no longer find it.
So any clues, anybody?

yes, can't remember exactly what it said about the MG4 profile, something like beta, or maybe provisional? So I guess it's still a work in progress.
It could be a while before this changes. I think the software is probably written by one guy in his spare time, and he's supporting 100s of vehicles with little information from the manufacturers and trying to add new features. ?
I also have blank and meaningless values.
The android auto screen also lacks the nice graphs.
That's a shame. I was hoping the problems on mine were specific to me and a few others and perhaps could be fixed by getting a different dongle or phone.
So you want, a range of charge states, with SOC and SoC values?
Yes. If a graph of SOC or Soc against charge state is a straight line you can create a custom sensor which is just a formula containing other sensor values to achieve the desired result.

Each battery type would require it's own formula derived from different collected values over a large part of the batterys range. As I rarely get out of the 50-80% range it could take a while to test if this idea works.

Doing this for SoC on car scanner would be a little better than the car display as you could show one or 2 decimal places and log the values to file. However if an integer is good enough then try displaying the sensor "Hybrid/EV battery pack remaining charge". (For Android, double tap a sensor value on the dashboard to change that field to a different sensor).

On the couple of values I've checked this on it's only been 1 out from the car value. Hopefully just a rounding difference similar to that @Coulomb refers to in a post after yours.
