Now that I can fuel up at Tesla points - and with the encouraging weather forecast in the west I’m settling on an escape plan over that way.Seventeen days on a pony would surely dotlle my poor posterior.
I’ve been round most of the 500 except the way of the bovine and I’m not really fussy about chasing Ferrari, Porsche or indeed mobile mansions on their procession. No I’ve rocked up near the pass when working or for pleasure trips in the past but just never went over. So. I’d be happy “doing” the pass on its own allied to a bit of exploring around there for a couple of days.
Then of course I would like to return to Rhenigadale however the spelling goes. I walked the famous Postman’s Path a couple of times when I was 16. I’m thinking the path may have fared better than me in the intervening sixty years. Could I walk it to collect bread nowadays?? I’m guessing a negative response - it was/is a hell of a path.
ahh I didn’t notice that. You see us mere fiver drivers aren’t allowed luxuries like illuminations at charging times.
I think I’ll probably leave on Tuesday and head to Tyndrum for a roast beef platter. Then off through wonderful GlenCoe
Magnette can sample some Teslapower in Fort William.
I’ll head up the Great Glen on th the A82 past Spean Bridge to Invergarry. Then it’ll be the A87 over to Invermoriston and the dam that holds Loch Cluanie.
My Daughter was impressed with the Landour Bakehouse opposite the Cluanie Inn at the western end of the loch so that could figure in my plan.
My quandary will the be whether to wend my way over towards Applecross or go for Shiel Bridge and cross over Mamratagan into Glenelg with it’s alternative wee ferry to Skye.
Or then again I might finally head for Applecross. Watch this space.
