Don't tell The MacMaster!

Seventeen days on a pony would surely dotlle my poor posterior.
I’ve been round most of the 500 except the way of the bovine and I’m not really fussy about chasing Ferrari, Porsche or indeed mobile mansions on their procession. No I’ve rocked up near the pass when working or for pleasure trips in the past but just never went over. So. I’d be happy “doing” the pass on its own allied to a bit of exploring around there for a couple of days.
Then of course I would like to return to Rhenigadale however the spelling goes. I walked the famous Postman’s Path a couple of times when I was 16. I’m thinking the path may have fared better than me in the intervening sixty years. Could I walk it to collect bread nowadays?? I’m guessing a negative response - it was/is a hell of a path.

ahh I didn’t notice that. You see us mere fiver drivers aren’t allowed luxuries like illuminations at charging times.
Now that I can fuel up at Tesla points - and with the encouraging weather forecast in the west I’m settling on an escape plan over that way.
I think I’ll probably leave on Tuesday and head to Tyndrum for a roast beef platter. Then off through wonderful GlenCoe

Magnette can sample some Teslapower in Fort William.
I’ll head up the Great Glen on th the A82 past Spean Bridge to Invergarry. Then it’ll be the A87 over to Invermoriston and the dam that holds Loch Cluanie.
My Daughter was impressed with the Landour Bakehouse opposite the Cluanie Inn at the western end of the loch so that could figure in my plan.
My quandary will the be whether to wend my way over towards Applecross or go for Shiel Bridge and cross over Mamratagan into Glenelg with it’s alternative wee ferry to Skye.
Or then again I might finally head for Applecross. Watch this space.

Great news about the Tesla chargers!

I have similar plans but concentrating more on the west. An Gearasdan to fill up, then Plockton, Applecross, Gairloch, then I'll see.

Maybe we should try to coincide at a restaurant somewhere, rather than chatting in the rain beside a recalcitrant charger.

Aye the rain was getting a bit unpleasant and I only remembered my umbrella as I was down about Strathyre.
Indeed a meal in a roofed food venue without the dreaded charging stress sounds fine ?

One big normal/golf sized one in the boot, and one dinky fold-up thing I was given as a Christmas present in the door pocket. I hardly ever use either of them.

With the weather in Scotland you have no use for umbrellas.

Mainly because the wind blows the rain sideways and will turn them inside out.

Oh, but when I complain about the lack of shelter over public chargers I'm told it's not a problem, just use an umbrella. That's with my fifth hand I suppose, on top of the two I need to get the CCS cable connected and the two I need to operate my mobile phone.

I’m tripping over chargers
Thought I’d add a wee bit before heading over the pass to Applecross. Found 2 CPS units just over the bridge to Skye. One unit at the old bridge toll office and one 7kw beside a craft centre (no coffee) There’s another two in Kyle of Lochalsh as well but I’d had my fill before that.

Do you use an app or RFID card and does the Electroverse ones work?
I really struggled with the RFID card so ended up using the CPS one.

I used an Electroverse card on the Eilean Donan charger yesterday, it was fine. Currently having late lunch at Eilean Donan castle before visiting the castle itself. Then I'll go back and sit on that charger for a wee while before heading for Applecross. Hope they have a spare berth at the camp site.

A few pitches left. The run over is marvellous- GOM reckoned I gained around 25 miles coming down this side. Views are stunning. The site is near silent. Take care - there’s a monarch on duty at the entrance ?. I’m set up so I can see Dun Caan flat top hill on isle of Raasay opposite. Gorgeous - and they have some flaming pods and caravans if any non campers fancy coming here

Can you ask them to reserve me one? Still on the Eilean Donan charger which has a wee problem today and had to be started remotely.

Belay that, I phoned. I'm in. Car now on 76%. See you.

This charger, which was fine yesterday, seems to have had a screen failure and you can't start the charge without the touchscreen. Helpline bloke kept saying, it was used yesterday, it should be fine. I kept saying I know, that was me, and it was fine, but today its screen is malfunctioning. Let's hope he reports it. I did tell him to.

Site filling but I’ve said to the folk you’re on your way so should be fine.
